later on nia got tired and decided to fall asleep in her new room.
the next day was saturday, she had woken up at around ten in the morning. her mom was already up, as always. "hey mom, i have some internet friends who live out here, is it okay if i go out with them?" nia asked her mom. her mom wasn't sure if she was wanting her daughter to go out in a town they knew nothing about. she asked lots of questions . until she made up her mind. "you can go, but you have to bring your brother with you." nia's mouth dropped. she knew her brother wouldn't anything slide, not even any harmless flirting. "okay.." she didn't want to argue with her mom though. she would just bribe her brother. after eating breakfast she went back up to her room to get ready for the day.
*INCOMING FACETIME CALL FROM XXX-XXX-XXXX* "omg it's probably mattia.." she thought to herself. she still had bed head and hadn't washed her face yet. she didn't want to answer the phone. she didn't want him to think it was a fake number either so she just answered the phone showing her ceiling. "nia kasan. show your face." mattia said, his accent shining through. the sound of his voice gave her butterflies, especially when he said her full name. "i look so ugly, call me later." she said whining. "show me your face." he said sounding slightly strict. she picked up her phone with an attitude and showed her face. "you're hot." he said, causing her to blush. "stop it. ur so annoying." she replied. he laughed and then asked her about when they were going to hang out. "well.. you tell me. oh and also.. mybrotherhastocome." she said the last part so fast it sounded like one word. he couldn't understand so he asked her to repeat. she said it slower. "my..brother..has..to..come.." "he doesn't like me!"mattia says a little frightened by nia's words. "GOODMORNING!" jayden says as he bursts through her room door. silence. "uhh, heyy.. you not actually gonna go right?" nia asks her brother, giving him puppy eyes. "stop making that ugly ass face. i got friends to meet too sooo i'll just ride with you and wait to get picked up and then i'll leave you alone." he replied. yes they always argued, but he always came through. "if i find out one of your "friends" tried anything i'll snap their neck tho. oh hey dino." he continues. "uh— hi." mattia says, a bit startled. "my god that nigga is so scary." jayden laughs and closes the door as he leaves. "YOU DIDNT CLOSE IT ALL THE WAY!" she yells. nia gets up making a loud sigh to close the door. "dayumm ma what u doing wit all dat ahh let me touch it." mattia says as he looks at her butt in her pajama shorts when she walks towards the door. "i'm sorry? do you want my brother to snap your neck?" she asks. mattia asks if he can ask her a question. she says sure. "you think we could be friends?" she pauses thinking of an answer. "you have an ugly pass, i try not to judge off of that but how do i know you're not gonna just randomly one day yell "my niggaaaa!" at my face." she replies. he laughs. "i've learned my lesson, i know that the word has deep history and for that i am sorry. it won't be said again." he apologizes. "wow.. someone has matured.. i kinda feel bad for hating him because of it." she thinks to herself. "but if we're gonna be friends you need some color in your life, it's okay to have a preference but damn really just white girls?" she says aloud. "i don't have a preference, people assume that because that's who i date." he replies. "uhh yea that's the whole point." she says. "african american baddies never want me.. for example.. you don't want me." he says. she pauses. "maybe i do want you.." she says to herself on her head. "i know a lot of black queens who want you but don't think you want them. and i'm sorry, just not my type." she replies. he stares at her in disbelief. he has a feeling she does want him deep down. "aight u acting weird.. be here in three hours." she says as she hangs up the phone. "i can't believe i just facetimed a boy while i was looking like a hobo..." she thinks to herself.
