A Soft Heart in a Cruel World

Shinya x Reader Part 1
Warning: A little angsty and a bit sad but fluffy ending at the end!

All my life, I've always been in their shadows.
I, Y/n Hiiragi. The 2nd eldest daughter and 5th child of Tenri Hiiragi. I have fallen for Shinya. My adoptive brother who is the fiancè of Mahiru, my older sister.

Some say its called incest but he isn't really our brother. He was just chosen by father because he saw him as a very capable man to be a Hiiragi. Speaking of which, almost all of my family despises me.. Except for Father and Shinoa, my little sister.
I was a lieutenant colonel like Guren, one of the people who cares about me.

My family despised me as I was soft-hearted. But nor I didn't care and I was surprised that my father didn't disowned me yet kept me even though I wasn't as strong as others.

Father said he saw my mother in me, I was the only daughter born normally. I wasn't like Mahiru or Shinoa.
And it was one of the reasons why Mahiru disliked me.

And now I am 23 years old, and right now I'm fighting a 6th progenitor Evanna Flores, whilst protecting the fallen Shinoa squad.
Yuu was knocked out unconscious and so was Kimizuki and Shinoa.
Mitsuba and Yoichi were guarding them.

"Legoshi." I called out to my Black Demon weapon,as it's form of a rapier. My demon, Legoshi is one of the people who cares for me. Coming in a form of a giant grey wolf.

"Yes Y/n?" he asked. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
"Give me more power. Please." I said as I looked at my demon. Legoshi's face was displayed of shock and worry.

"Y/n at this rate you will become a demon. It's too dangerous." He howled as he looked at me with his green eyes. I sighed and grabbed the pendant that rested on my neck.

" I don't care. I want to protect Yuu and the others. I see them as my little siblings. I want to protect my sister, Shinoa for that matter, I want them to live a happy future. Especially them. So take my desire and give me more power to protect them Legoshi..." I said cooly as Legoshi was hesitating to give me the power I wanted.

"Do you really want more power..?" Legoshi asked, a frown etched upon his face as I nodded.

"Then I'll take your desire and make you more powerful than that bastard Kureto.." Legoshi growled as I giggled.

"I want to protect them. I want them to live a happy life that they deserve, I'll never give up on them because they are my family." It may sound ridiculous for others but this has always been one of my desires.

Shinoa's PoV
I lightly groaned as I felt the cemented floor against my cheek.
"Shinoa! Its your sister Y/n! She's fighting against the 6th progenitor!" Mitsuba yelled as my hazel eyes widened and I got up immediately, only to see my elder sister Y/n. She looked different.

She had two white wings like an angel but she has two horns on her head like a gazelle's. The sclera of her eyes were black as her iris and pupils were fully ocean blue. The right side of her face was decorated what seemed to be with tatoos of white lotus flowers.

The 6th progenitor was fatally wounded. Y/n-nii was missing a left arm.

"Shinoa!" Big brother Shinya was staring at Y/n-nii's form. He was shocked, it seems the whole Guren squad is here as back up. Everyone except Yuu and Kimizuki were watching
Y/n-nii as she fought against the 6th  progenitor alone.

"You stupid soft-hearted livestock. You're just getting yourself killed." The vampire progenitor smirked even though she was wounded a lot.

"Soft-hearted?" Mito-san frowned, Shinya was still looking stunned. Y/n-nii didn't say a word but drove her sword into the progenitor, killing it. As soon as the vampire dispersed, Y/n-nii began to revert back to her own self, she looked about she was to stumble around until she suddenly fell on her knees, coughing out blood. Mitsu quickly ran to her.

"She's losing too much blood!" Mitsuba yelled. She was holding
Y/n-nii while wrapping the amputated arm with her cape to stop the bleeding. My sister was about to say something when she was cut off by my teammate.

"No! Don't talk! Guren, hurry!" Mitsu shouted but A gentle smile was still on her face. The same smile that she wore even she was going through hardships. The smile that she wore when Big sister Mahiru was bullying her. 

"Mitusba. I'll be okay. It's alright." She said as her eyelids began to droop and my eyes widened in horror and fear. I took a deep breath and walked towards me elder sister.

"Heheh, Don't tell me you're going to leave me here too, Y/n-nii.." I said half-jokingly as I tried to contain my tears. But I failed, biting my lip as my hands began to shake.

(3rd Pov)
"Shinoa.. Don't worry about me. I'll be fine-"

"How can you say that..." Shinoa cut her off, her bangs covering her eyes as tears still streamed down her face.

"Hn?" Y/n frowned as Mitsuba knew what was going to happen.

"How can you that when everyone treated you cruelly?! I always see the pain in your eyes, everytime they hurt you! How can you let them mistreat you!" Shinoa shouted in anger and sadness making her older sister's eyes widen.

"Shinoa. That's enough. Mitsuba give her to me. " A voice said from behind them. Shinya walked cooly as he stared at (h/c) haired female.
Mitsuba hesitated a little but with a nod from the weakened girl, she had no choice but to give her to him.

"Guren, Shinya-sama.. There are 7 vampires coming our way. We should hurry." Mito announced as she came down from the building.

"Sleep Y/n, we'll be back home soon." Shinya said as he carried the sleepy girl in his arms. Y/n hesitated to rest but gave out to the loss of blood as her heart softly beated inside her chest.

Guren nodded to Shinya and everyone went into the truck to evacuate with Shinya holding the unconscious girl protectively.
