Quirks. You should remember there are different kinds of people. You may not be born with a quirk, but there is a dark side to it. It can go terribly wrong and you could turn into a villain with a heart of ice. One day the first hero was born, Cardinal. Cardinal discovered an extra bone in his elbow and lower arm, which developed into feathers within a two-week time-span. As the feathers developed, he taught himself how to fly and control his wild powers. He learnt that there was a dark side to this. If you don't let the power develop naturally, force the power to come early, or had trauma due to using your powers, you can turn into a villain. It wasn't by choice either. Your body could become mangled and your mind will distort into something like a wild animal's. Depending on your quirk, if it was a stronger power, you would become horribly unnatural. He, Cardinal, found this out the hard way, as he found a young child. She was named Chiaki. Chiaki was a lovely child, yet her parents had left her in an abandoned alleyway, which was empty, except for the old bloodstains against the wall and the occasional scattered bottles. He took her home, finding out her parents left her behind due to some 'unnatural powers' appearing. Cardinal questioned the young girl, to figure out if she had any similar power resemblance to him, which she somewhat did. She could use particles in the air to form shield-like objects, which she could handle with ease. Her 'drawback', as he called it, was that it gave her issues with breathing. Chiaki trained day after day to impress her parents, to which they only ignored. The young child pushed herself to the brink of death just trying to get their approval, to which her parents only responded with by abandoning her.

As days passed and Cardinal cared for the young girl, he walked into her room one day, as she didn't respond to him knocking on her door. Chiaki was laying on the floor, curled into a ball, crying and nearly gasping for air. The air around her was practically forming a bubble around her. Cardinal found it clear that she was having a panic attack, and in an attempt to calm her from her upsetting state, he tried to touch the bubble covering the child. Chiaki's eyes snapped open. As she cried out, 'p-please stop, don't hurt me!', Cardinal pulled his hand away. Something had snapped in the young girl, and it seemed dangerous. The adolescent's eyes were many shades darker than usual, and the whites of her eyes were dark. Her nails seemed sharp, like they were claws. Cardinal backed away from the girl, afraid of how potentially dangerous she could now be. Her legs seemed to bend awkwardly, almost like an animal of some sort. Something was CLEARLY wrong. After what felt like hours, but was only a few minutes of staring at each other, the child growled. Cardinal backed away, trying not to provoke the animalistic state Chiaki was in.
