The next few days had you attending some of the non-Japan games on your own. There was not a lot of opportunity to meet with Wakatoshi or any of others on game days.
When Japan had a match, you sat with Tendou near the front. On Tuesday Japan faced Argentina and took the win with three sets to one. Wednesday pitted them against Italy which unfortunately saw them win only one of the four played sets.
On Thursday their match was in the evening at 6.30 pm, giving you most of the day to do with as you wanted. During lunch you got a message on Line from Wakatoshi, asking if you would like to go for dinner at the Japanese restaurant from before with some of the guys from the team.
You were happy that he invited you, but couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that it wasn't going to be the two of you again.
'Okay, see you after the game then? Good luck!'

Back at the hotel Wakatoshi sat on his bed and started typing a reply when Tendou dropped himself down next to him.
"I'm ready to go eat lunch." He told his friend as he looked at what he was typing.
"'Thanks.'? That's so boring Wakatoshi-kun... Let me help you with that." And before Wakatoshi could react Tendou had snatched his phone out of his hand.
"Give it back." He told Tendou in a rather threatening way. But as Tendou showed no signs of doing that he tried to grab his phone back from his mischievous friend, who was clearly up to no good.
Trying to dodge Wakatoshi's attempts Tendou never took his eyes of the phone and started typing. "Don't worry, I won't go overboard this time, I'm making it more believable."
Wakatoshi was able to reclaim his phone, but judging from Tendou's satisfied grin it was already too late and he winced as he looked at the message thread.
'Thanks. <3'
"Tendou..." Tendou quickly made his way over to the door, not wanting to face his friend's wrath but stopped as he noticed Wakatoshi wasn't following. He looked back and noticed Wakatoshi staring at his phone.
"What? Did she reply?" He asked as he quickly made his way back to look at the message on the small screen.
' <3 '
As a big grin spread on his face, another message from you arrived.
'Say hi to Tendou from me (ー_ー )'
'I know he's there.'
"Aaaaaah. She knows me too well." Tendou exclaimed in disappointment.
-
You clutched your phone waiting for Wakatoshi's reply. You were not at all confident that you had guessed correctly. Usually Tendou would send big, elaborate emoji, a simple heart was not at all like him. But you knew Wakatoshi, and a heart was even less like him.
If it had not been Tendou, then not only had Wakatoshi sent you a heart, you had been rude in assuming he couldn't have sent it.
Not much later the liberating sound of a message arriving eased your worries.
'Yes, he's here.'
You ended the conversation by wishing him good luck again and that you would see him later.
Since the match that evening started at 6.30 pm you were rather hungry by the time it finished. Japan had an easy, three straight sets, win against Bahrain meaning they were done fairly early, but you had refused to snack because you did not want to spoil your appetite.
