The moon stood out, stark and white against the dark night sky. Small stars seemed to blink in and out, as they decorated the sky.Suga couldn't sleep. That seemed to be a common theme in these last few weeks. His whole body was tired, begging him for sleep, but his mind was wide awake.
He finally quit trying to go to sleep, and got up, slipping his robes from the previous day over his night clothes. As quietly as he could, he moved across the room, slipping out the door.
The walk to the great hall was short. Well maybe it just seemed that way because Suga's head wouldn't stop racing.
The great hall was mostly empty, a few students scattered across the four large tables that decorated the hall. Most of them had their heads down, sleeping.
Suga sighed and sat down, reaching for a mug and the pot of coffee that appeared as soon as he sat down. There was no point in sleeping if the sun was gonna be up in few hours anyway.
He wrapped his hands around the mug, feeling the familiar warmth spread through his hands. He glanced around the hall, watching the students who were awake. His gaze fell on a familiar figure who just walked into the room.
He groaned into his hands. Why was Daichi here? He looked up just as Daichi approached the table and sat down next to Suga.
"What do you want?" Suga snapped.
Daichi looked startled. "I should go," he mumbled.
"No," Suga said, his voice softening, "Please stay."
"Are you okay?" The question had been following him for days.
"I-" Suga sighed in defeat. "I don't know"
"Do you wanna talk about it?" Daichi asked.
"No"
"Okay," Daichi straightened as his eyes lit up, "Have you ever ditched?"
"What? No!" Suga was shocked.
"Well," Daichi looked way to excited, " How 'bout we take the day off?"
It was 2 in the morning and Suga's head wasn't functioning the way that to should.
"Yeah, that sounds fun." Suga said, taking a sip of his coffee. "Where would we go?"
"Leave that up to me," Daichi smiled. Suga felt his heart melt a little bit.
He didn't feel that way when he looked at Oikawa.
"And-" Daichi said, placing his hand on top of Suga's mug, " No more coffee, get some sleep"
"But-" Suga started, and got cut off by a stern look from Daichi.
"Sleep" his voice was so firm Suga almost fell asleep right there.
Suga woke up to a light chatter. He sat up quickly, losing track of his location.
"Woah," Oikawa said, placing a hand on Suga's back. "Hey, good morning"
"What time is it" Suga asked, his eyes were half closed in the bright morning sun.
"Around 7-ish" Oikawa placed a cup of coffee in front of suga, who took it greedily.
Remembering what he promised Daichi, Suga put a hand up to his head.
"I'm not feeling so good," He lied.
"I mean you did sleep in the great hall last night," Oikawa chuckled. "You should take the day off, get some sleep."
"Yeah," Suga stumbled to his feet and out of the hall, ignoring the stares that followed him.
