ii. Chapter 26: "I'll take the stairs,"

Shots began to be fired at all three of them. Steve got behind his shield pulling Sarah into him protectively to avoid the gunfire. Bucky, on the other hand, wasn't having any of it and pushed Steve through the nearest window landing painfully on the concrete balcony. Holding up his metal arm Bucky repelled the bullets that were being shot at him and Sarah, then slams the Officer into some shelves.

Sarah's attention fell to her hand, she was confused, why was she was fazing in out?

"What the-?"

     "SARAH!" Steve grunts from the balcony, he throws her his shield right when a guy aimed a gun at her. She uses it to block the bullets. Peaking up from the shield, she watches the agent pull the trigger, it looks like he ran out of ammo.

     "Uhhhhh? sorry about this," Sarah could see his confused expression behind the mask as if he was questioning 'sorry about what?' "that's going to hurt when he wakes up," she replies dropping her father's shield and head in the direction Bucky went. Steve not so far behind.

A cop descends through a sky-light on a zip wire. Bucky grabs the cop's gun and slams him into the wall. Bucky bashes a couple of cops with the battering ram. More of the police team hurry up the stairwell. Bucky jumps on the zip-line-guy and swings down a level.

     "Verdächtige haben das Containment gebrochen! die Osttreppe runter! (Suspects broke the containment! down the east stairs!)" An agent says,

Steve grabs the radio and crushes it. Steve jumps down a level as Bucky keeps punching the cops. Bucky tosses one of them over the railing and Steve catches him, stopping the cop from falling. He looks at Bucky wearily.

Steve throws the cop up onto the landing. Bucky breaks a banister and swings down on it. Steve hurls a cop over his shoulders. Bucky lays into jet more cops and takes them out. A cop aims at Sarah and Steve knocks the gun from his hands with his shield which sticks in the wall. Bucky leaps down the stairwell falling a few flights before his metal arm catches onto a railing.

     "I'll take the stairs," She says sarcastically, fighting her way through the agents, it took her a little longer, but she's finally able to catch up with bucky who throws himself off a balcony. He tumbles onto the lower roof of the neighboring building where he finds his backpack. he picks it up and runs.

She sighs before, stepping back to the beginning of the corridor before taking her jump to the neighboring building. She lands safely with a graceful roll.

Black Panther, slams into Sarah from behind, knocking her down. T'challa extends his fingers and sharp claws pop out. He attacks Sarah with sweeping kicks and slashes. she manages to fight back but is kicked into a wall. Bucky stops noticing the confrontation and goes back to help Sarah, Black Panther swipes his claws and spins gracefully. Bucky narrowly avoids being slashed, he grabs the nearest thing which was a metal rod which is able to block.

Steve watches from the balcony and thinks, 'How could she be so careless?' following Bucky, then he realizes he'd be doing the same thing if the roles were reversed. He watches Bucky joins in she was no longer fighting the mystery hostile alone, He glances up to his right and catches sight of a flying figure.

It was Sam.

     "Sam, south-west rooftop," Steve calls through comms as he stepped back for a run up at the balcony railing.

    "Who the hell's the other guy?" Sam asks, sounding confused as he alters his direction.

     "About to find out," Steve gets a head start before he leaps from the balcony down onto the neighboring building, a helicopter appeared above them.

Black Panther's claws manage to slice through the metal rod reaching down to try and grab Bucky about the throat. Bucky grabs his wrists while Sarah moves in and aims a kick at the Black Panther's mid-section to see if that would release Bucky. Steve began to sprint across the rooftop, trying to reach his friend and Daughter.

While the trio wrestled to gain control, a GSG-9 Soldier began to fire a machine gun from the helicopter. Sarah watches in awe as the bullets harmlessly bounce off the black armored bodysuit as if they were nothing but tiny pebbles. Steve hears Sarah gasp, watching helplessly as a bullet hit her arm. "Sam!" Steve calls as he ran towards the group. Sam understood what Steve wanted, "Got him," Sam says flying up into the sky, before readying both his feet to be pushed into the tail of the helicopter, causing it to spiral out of control.

Sarah had no time to wallow in pain, as the Black Panther was distracted she manages to kick his feet from on under him, knocking him down. Giving Sarah and Bucky enough distance between them and the Black Panther as the chase began.

Behind her, Bucky clambered to his feet, grabbing his bag and slinging it on his back, before running and jumping over the edge of the roof, landing down a level.

     "How do you make it look so graceful?!" Sarah hisses, glancing over her shoulder. The Black Panther met her gaze.

     "Okay so, leap or vibranium claws?" She contemplates, "Sarah come on," Bucky says looking up from the ledge.

     "Fine," she mumbles to herself before taking the jump. Taking the leap just in time to avoid Black Panther's Claws.

Without a second thought, Black Panther made his jump, using his claws as a slowing down mechanism against the vent on the side of the building. Watching how quickly the Black panther was advancing they quickly took the drop to the street without a second thought.

Steve followed shortly behind the trio using his vibranium shield to brace the landing, rolling along the ground, before getting onto his feet and running after them. The helicopter returned gunfire taring the coble sidewalk as they ran.

Bucky and Sarah jump down through an opening onto oncoming traffic. Tires screeched, the cars were trying to avoid hitting them. They start their escape again through the ongoing traffic Black Panther and Captain America seeming to keep up with them.
