Chapter Five - Welcome to Dark Creatures

POV of Kat Morgan

It's been almost a week since I took the kids to the gang house and today I am going to be testing them to see if they can join. Trent really wanted to join and Liss was all for it so like we do with all new recruits we test them to see if they have what it takes. Today is that day. Serenity, Axel and I are just going to take them. Janice would have kittens if she knew and well Jax would... actually I don't know what Jax would do but he wouldn't be happy his kids are joining Dark Creatures.

We arrive at the gang house around 10am. I get the stuff we need to do the testing. I have tested people from the age of 5 to 25. A lot of the time if we find young kids on the street or in a bad way we take them in. In some ways we give them a life, it might not be a dream life but it's better than what they have come from. For Trent and Liss to pass today they have to be able to shoot a gun with at least 45% accuracy and be able to preform self defence. Luckily for Trent and Liss Axel and Serenity have been training them. I begin the test first with the shooting. They both do very well with Liss excelling in shooting. Next we do fighting both do well with Trent doing amazingly well. By 11:30 we're finished and I go into my office to look over my notes I make to see if they've made it. I make my way out to where the kids are waiting. "Well congrats kids you make it." I say smiling as the kids jump with excitement.
"Are you serious?" Trent asks excited.
"Yes now go get ice cream. I'll finish getting everything packed up here." I insist.
"Are you sure?" All the kids ask.
"Yes." I order.
"Well since this is a celebration why don't we go to the fair go on rides have fun everything make a day if it." Serenity suggests.
"Sounds great now go have fun." I say. The kids run out to the car and head off. Oh to be young.

I make it home around 12pm, just in time for lunch. I see a note on the kitchen table and walk over to read it.
I don't know why I'm doing this but I thought I would leave you a note saying that I have gone clothes shopping for myself and Trent and Bliss because the moving company has lost half of our clothes. I probably will be home by 5:30pm. Serenity and Axel told me that they were going to take Trent and Bliss to a theme park or fair thing, I said it was okay but could you please remind them to not let Trent and Bliss eat too much sugar and junk food it isn't good for them. Janice.
Looks like I've got an afternoon all to my self, oh what will I do with all that free time. Easy I will have a TVD marathon. Just as I'm about to make some popcorn the doorbell rings. Oh who wants me now. I think as I walk to the door and asnwer it. "What do you want Jax?" I growl.
"Ooh grouchy what did I interrupt? Not sex because you don't have the sex face. Not gang stuff because you don't have your cute frustrated face on. Ah it's a Vampire Daires marathon you have the you just runied my movie face on." Jax says as he walks into my house.
"Yeah feel free to come in." I say sarcastically and close the door.
"Thanks." Jax replies with his cocky smile.
"What do you want Jax?" I ask.
"Well I was bored so I thought I would come see what you're doing." Jax informs going into the kitchen and finishes making the popcorn I started.
"What are you doing?" I question.
"Well I'm bored so I'm joining you." Jax tells me. I don't argue with him I just watch him finish up the popcorn. I remember how we use to watch marathons when we were together, it usually end with a good time in the bedroom.

We have finished watching episode 3 around 2:15. I think about putting on the next episode but a burning question gets the better of me. "Jax why did you leave?" I ask looking him dead straight in the eye.
"Kat I didn't want to leave, I had to though. I did a bad drug deal. I had to run I didn't want to get you or the kids involved. But you've still had to move around because of me and my mistakes. There was never a day I didn't think about you and the kids." Jax explains.
"Why did you marry her then?" I question looking down.
"I got back to a somewhat normal life. People didn't know what I did and I could still do it on the down low. I met Janice and having a relationship help restored the normality. I guess I thought that after so many years you would never want to see me again so I decided to move on." Jax responds.
"You know I still loved you." I mention "Still do." I add in a whisper.
"Kat." Jax says almost in awe, before he does something that surprises me. He kisses me. A long intense passionate kiss. Before he works his way down to my neck. "Jax." I moan. God damn it woman don't let yourself get drawn in. Jax kisses from my neck to my jaw. I shiver with delight. Too late I'm drawn in. Jax picks me up and carries me to my room kissing me all the way. He lays me down on the bed. Jax slowly removes my top. Jax goes back to kissing me. Licking my bottom lip asking for entrance. I don't even think about denying him. As the passion and intensity increases Jax sense that I'm losing my breath and goes back to trailing kisses all the way from my jaw to my neck and to my chest. "Jax." I pant.
"Yeah." Jax mumbles as he continues placing kisses all over me.
"We... can't. You have Janice." I manage to get out.
"Who cares." Jax says. This get me back into action as I rip off Jax's shirt. Well it looks like this is going to be interesting.

Wow. His better than I remembered. "That was-" Jax starts.
"Amazing." I finish. The reality of what I just did hits me. "However it was a mistake. You have Janice and everything." I remind.
"Katherine." Jax says as I start to put back on my clothes.
"Let's just forget this ever happened." I demand.
Jax sighs. "Forgotten." Once we are both completely dresses we go down stairs. We make it down just in time before the kids come home. I'm pretty sure I only had four kids that were going to becoming home from the fair but nope there's six. Trent and Bliss come in with bundles of stuffed toy and other things. Serenity and Mel have a couple of show bags in each hand. Last but not least Kaden and Axel come in carrying random things. I'm guessing that these to got put in the job of carrying everyone's stuff. "Hey kids have fun?" I ask.
"It was awesome!" Trent, Liss, Serenity and Melody say at the same time.
"We got stuck carrying all the stuff." Axel and Kaden complain. Next Janice comes in with mountains of shopping bags. Wow someone went on a shopping spree. "Is there anything left in the shops?" I ask.
"Plenty. Any way this should replace the stuff the moving company lost." Janice informs, like we all wanted to know. The home phone starts to ring I go to answer it but Axel beats me to it. "Morgan residence." Axel answers. The person on the other end says some stuff then realization hits Axels face. "Oh hi, yeah she's here." Axel hand the phone over to me. I take the phone and go into another room. "Hello." I answer.
"Katherine dear, it's Mary."
"Mary how you going?" I ask, Mary Hall Jax's mother and one of the sweetest people I know.
"I am very well and your self?"
"I'm well."
"Now the reason I'm calling. As you know Noah and I moved recently and it happens to be close to you so we were wondering if you and the kids would like to come for the weekend?" Mary inquires.
"We would love to."
"Okay I'll have Noah text you the address. See you this weekend."
"See you then." With that we both hang up. I return to where everyone is. "Who was that." Serenity asks.
"Mary rang inviting us to say with them for the weekend so you two," I point at Axel and Serenity. "Don't make any plans and if you have any cancel." I demand then go to my room to start making, what can I say I like to be prepared.
