"Are you sure we can do this?" Andal asked, turning to you.

You were silent for a second, then you nodded, "Yes. We can do this. What I am unsure of, is if they can."

The five Hunters looked at the Vanguard. They were planning an assault on a Hive place.

"Thats why we have to do it before they can," Tallulah looked at you and Andal.

Caliban giggled quietly at Cayde's goofing off. That made you and Tallulah turn around and hush the two.

Ikora heard the giggles and quickly looked at where your position use to be.

"Ikora, what is the matter?" Zavala asked.

"I thought I heard shushes," Ikora explained.

Shiro frowned, looking where Ikora was. Then he turned back to the map that layed in front of the three.

"You idiot, you almost got us caught!" You growled at Cayde.

"Sorry."

"If the Vanguard found out we were still alive from being burdened with the Darkness, we'd thrown into a prison faster than you can say, I'm dead!" You explained, "We are burdened, we don't have a choice. We either give into the dark urges and fight our loved ones or we fight the Darkness. We're the only ones who can actually do damage."

"Fight fire with fire, right?" Caliban asked.

"We've already almost been spotted by one of Ikora's Hidden," Andal sighed.

"We can't risk it more. We know when they are going to attack and we need to get there first," you said.

"Then let us go tomorrow at sundown, no earlier, no later," Tallulah decides.

"Because when the sun sets, Guardians are weaker," you start.

"But we aren't Guardians anymore so we are stronger!" Andal finished.

"Come. We gotta get back to base, the sun's coming up," Tallulah ordered, backing into a dark corner and disappearing.

Caliban and Cayde followed, but you stayed, edging closer to the edge where you could Shiro better. You wished so desperately you could hop down there and jump into his arms, but you knew you couldn't.

The thing with your punishment, with your burden of Darkness is if you stay around people for too long, you get the urge to kill all of them.

"You want to be down there, don't you?" Andal asked, walking next to you.

"More than anything."

"You know we can't-"

"I know, but that doesn't stop me from hurting. Shiro's been through so much, along Ikora and Zavala, yet here we are. Doing the Light's bidding despite us being creatures of the Darkness," you sighed.

Andal frowned, nodding, "Yeah, but once we destroy the Darkness, the Light, the Traveler, will welcome us back."

"You can't be so sure. It could hundred of years and they don't have that time."

"I know, but we'll figure out how. Lets just get back to base, don't want them seeing us," Andal put his hand on your shoulder before disappearing into the shadows.

You looked at your Exo lover one last time before disappearing too.

Once you were gone, Shiro looked where you use to be, frowning..
