Playful, Reckless and young, Papa's princess and mumma's lil' girl.
Her heart full of innocence and love for all the people she has ever met. She wears her sweet smile and joyful laugh even for the strangers; as her heart is too blind to see the real face of the worldShe trusts easily, as good is all she has ever seen in her life, her family; too overprotective as in the family garden she's the most beautiful flower. 🌸
But that night, her faith in humanity was shaken, her faith in the relationships was broken. She cried all night, comforting herself with the lies, trying to escape from the truth. Yet the young soul remained silent as she blamed herself for his sins. She tried to forget all what happened that day, but somewhere flashbacks haunted her, nights felt darker and her courage was shattering every day.
Days passed, but her soul didn't get calm. Sitting alone in her room; playing with her barbie doll, her mom entered the room.
Mom: "You know, your aunt will be visiting us this weekend."
She: "oh! That's great."
Mom: "Honey! You can go and play with your brothers then.☺️ It must be quite boring, sitting here and playing with dolls."
She: "Yeah, It is.!"
They both smiled at each other and her mother left the room.
Her heart filled with fear, she kept wondering how she can escape from this mess. She had no clue what these things were all about. Her aunt came to visit them, all day, she had spent her time playing with her cousin, hoping for time to stop. It was an another night, repeating the same old story but this time, her soul wanted to scream for help, wanted to tell everyone what's wrong but she couldn't.
Next day she woke up and rushed to her mom and asked
"What should I do if someone's touch makes me feel uncomfortable?."
"What's wrong?", Her mom asked with fear in her eyes."I've seen people talking about good touch and bad touch nothing else." The little girl replied.
Her mom took a deep breath and said,
"Honey! If someone's touch is making you feel uncomfortable, all you need to do is, NEVER EVER STAY SILENT! RAISE YOUR VOICE."
After listening to her mother's words, she got the courage to tell her mom about everything she was going through, but there was an unknown fear that occupied her heart and she left things unsaid, yet again.
Years paseed, She was growing into a beautiful teenager, meeting new people, growing friendships and even falling in love but she wasn't able to trust anyone completely as her heart was scared of gettiing broken. And her mommy taught her, how a good girl should behave.Well, If you're in India (Indian girl) you're not supposed to have male friends. You should not fall in love before you get married. 🙄 Being physical with someone is considered as a crime... Your character will be defined by the length of your dress and number of guys you've dated... and blah blah blah...!
And that's exactly what she has learnt. She was scared of being looked by those judgy eyes. She was afraid of being called characterless. She was scared about how her mom will react over her relationships. There were certain things in her mind, but the most disturbing thing was not to trust anyone. After all these years she was stuck onto the same thought, that no one is worth trusting.
After so many nights; crying all alone, cursing him for his sins, she decided to raise her voice, no matter what she will fight for herself, she walked out to the door and said
"Mommy! I need to talk."Mom: Yes, Honey! why are you so tensed and angry? Is everything alright?
She: *in a trembling voice* "No mommy, I'm not okay, I tried to fight it, but no! Nothing is alright! I'm tired, I'm tired of pretending that it's alright.
Her mom hugged her tight; kissed on her forehead and asked her what's wrong.
"Mommy, do you remember once you taught me that whenever you feel that something is wrong, just raise your voice!"
Mom: "yes, Honey. I DO REMEMBER THAT."
She: "Maybe it took me so long to gather the courage to raise my voice, but mommy. His touch isn't good! Mommy I hate it when he is around. Mommy!"
She started crying holding her mom tighter and closer. Her mom was trying to comfort her, and said
"you should have told us earlier, you're not alone. Whoever he is, he has to pay for his sins. Darling ! Stop crying. You're my strong girl. And your not the one at fault, Honey!".
She: "he is..."
Mom: "Don't be scared, I'm here for you, your daddy and everyone in the family is here for you. We all know what world is like, and trust me darling we will always protect you!"
To be continued....
