Pip was jolted awake by the rattling of the carriage as it pulled to a stop. She was about to get out and find out why they had stopped, though honestly she didn't care as long as she got to stretch her legs a bit. But just as she was about to turn the door handle, the carriage began moving again, and with that movement went Pip's hope of walking gracefully when she arrived at her destination. She had to get out of this marriage somehow, she was only 16! She didn't want to marry a spoiled jerk, she didn't want to get married at all.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a face appearing in her window. "Hi!" The face said. It was a rather nice looking face, truth be told, with its blueish gray eyes and shapely nose and mouth, which was twisted into a nervous smile. "I'm Kai and we are raiding your carriage. Do you have any valuables in here?" Thank goodness was all Pip could think at that moment.
"I should say I'm pretty valuable, so please take me out of here. I don't care where, as long as it's far away from that beastly Prince Jairus II." Maybe this was how she could get out of marriage! And she could easily see herself being one of those princesses that get captured and fall in love with their captors. Kai was VERY easy to look at, that wind blown sandy blond hair was just gorgeous.
Kai looked a little confused but he shrugged and called out to the driver, whoever it was, to stop the carriage. Once the carriage had pulled to a complete halt, Pip Gracefully accepted Kai's help exiting the carriage, the sensation of his hand on hers was admittedly pleasant. When she was safely on the ground she saw a figure standing before, his hands on his hips.
"My name is Fynn. You say you want us to take you away, correct?" His voice was not one of a man, as Pip had expected, but one of a boy.
"Yes. I am betrothed to Prince Jadix, but all I've ever heard of him is that he's a spoiled jerk, so I was trying to find a way out of it when you so kindly raided my carriage." Kai fidgeted nervously until Fynn gave him a sharp look.
"We have recently heard that Prince Jadix has gone missing, perhaps to escape the marriage himself?" Fynn said it like a question, but Pip got the feeling it wasn't one. "Where do you wish to escape to?"
"Wherever a betrothed princess would be least likely to go. I don't really care." Pipwas really hoping they would take me with them, she wanted to know more about these young thieves, and maybe she wanted to get to know Kai a little better.
"Very well Princess Persephone, you will accompany us to a town in the soith of Heshdalik, they'll never find you there." He was polite, at least.
"First off, don't call me princess Persephone. That sound like a name for a poodle, call me Pip. Second off, let me go see if there are any valuables in the carriage because we're probably ditching it and we might need stuff to sell. I also have a better change of clothes in there"
"Alright, but hurry we need to go as soon as possible." This guy really was no-nonsense.
Pip grabbed her small pouch of money and quickly changed out of her ridiculously fancy dress into a pair of leggings and a muted green shirt. Then the group set of in the direction of Heshdalik to hide and plan.
