Chapter 5
I rushed out of the closet and went back to my class.
I wasn’t paying any attention, I was only thinking about Matt and the kiss he gave me.
When the bell rang, I ran out of the classroom.
I need to talk to Lucy, now.
I raced to the front doors.
I was almost there, when Josh stooped m.
“Where are you going?”
“The bus”
“What’s up? Are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine; I just have to use the bathroom”
He chuckled. “Use the schools”
“They’re gross”
He shock his head. “Okay, bye” he kissed me and walked to the gym.
I ran to the bus and quickly got on.
“Lucy, I need your help” I said sitting down.
“What happened?” she asked in a rush as she turned and faced me.
“Matt kissed me” I blurted out.
“He what? What happen tell me, now”
“I was walking in the hall way and he pulled me in a closet and kissed me. Then he ran away” I explained. “What do I do? I want to tell Josh but I don’t want to ruin their friendship”
“Then tell him that someone kissed you, don’t know who. That why you won’t feel bad”
“That’s a good idea”
“What are you going to do about Matt?”
“What do you mean?”
“He kissed you, what are you going to do?”
“I don’t know ignore him”
“No let him to leave you alone”
“I’ll try”
“You won’t try, you will” she commanded.
“Okay”
“Good, now, how was your day?”
I laughed. “Good, yours?”
“Good”
We talked like always and she dropped me off.
I did my homework and cleaned the house.
It was another late night for my parents.
I was curled up in the sofa reading when the doorbell rang.
I got up quickly and opened the door.
I knew it was Josh.
“Hey” I said quickly giving him a peck on the lips.
“Hey, babe, what’s up?”
“Um, I have something to tell you, but you can’t get mad”
“What happened?” he asked in a worried tone.
“Well, I was walking in the hallway and some one grabbed me in the closet. He kissed me and then left. I couldn’t see the person, it was too dark.”
He looked beyond pissed. “Okay, thanks for telling me” he said calming down a little. He pulled me into a hug and kissed the top of my head.
“Come on sugar,” Josh said lifting me up bridle style. He started walking upstairs.
“Where are you taking me?” I giggled.
“To your room” he said childishly
“Why?”
“Because, darling, you need to get dressed up”
“Why?” I asked as he opened my bed room door.
“Because, I’m taking you out. Now, start looking prettier than you normally do” he put me down on my bed and left.
I laughed and got ready.

“I’m ready” I said from my room.
“Okay,” Josh said opening my door. “Damn girl, you look hot,” he said picking me up again.
I laughed. “Where are you taking me?”
“Places,”
“Josh”
“Violet”
I rolled my eyes as he carried me to his car.
He put me in the car, and then got in himself.
He drove for about an hour, until we reached a fancy restaurant in the city.
“You’re taking me here?”
“Yeah, let’s go my lady” he said quickly getting out and opening my door.
I smiled at me as I got out of the car.
He led me into the restaurant. “Hello, reservation for Josh”
The man looked at the book in front of him. “Follow me”
The man led us to a table outside for two.
“Your waiter will be right with you”
We nodded our heads as he left.
Josh pulled put my chair and pushed me in once I sat down.
“So, what’s up?” I asked
“What do you mean?”
“Why are we here?”
“Can’t I just take you out for a romantic dinner under the stars?”
“Okay,” I said, I knew something was up.
We enjoyed our dinner and had a great time.
After dinner Josh seemed a little jumpy.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah, why?” he said, as his eyes bounced around the room.
“You seem anxious or nervous about something”
“I’m fine” he said as our waitress brought us a tray with a cover over it.
“Your dessert” she said smiling. She placed it in front of me.
I gave Josh a funny look, we never ordered dessert.
He smiled at me.
I shrugged and took off the cover.
My eyes went wide.
Oh my gosh!!
In front of me was a slice of chocolate cake with a beautiful, diamond ring on top.
I looked at Josh confused and in awe. He smiled at me and took my hand.
“Violet, I love you and I want to be with you forever. So take this ring as a promise ring,”
I felt a tear slowly fall down my cheek.
“Josh,” I paused. I didn’t know what to say. “I love you too” I smiled.
“Forever and always,” he said slipping the ring on my ring finger.
I led in and kissed him. The bystanders around us clapped and cheered at us.
I pulled away and smiled.
This was the most amazing night of my life.

The week went by quickly and normally.
No on pulled me into closets, girls stopped glaring at me, Matt didn’t bother me, and Josh and I are as happy as ever.
It’s now Friday evening and I’m getting ready to meet Josh’s family.
Josh has been asking me all week if I wanted to still meet them, I kept saying yes. But know I’m nervous.
“Violet,” my mom called.
“In here” I called to her.
“Honey, you look fine. They are going to love you, no matter what,”
I sighed. “Fine,” I grabbed my purse and walked down stairs.
The doorbell rang and I answered it.
“Hey,” I said to Josh.
“Hey,” he said pulling me into a hug. “Ready?”
“Yeah, bye” I called to my parents and left the house.
Josh didn’t live to far away from me. It was about a fifteen minute drove.
He pulled in front of a big house and sighed. “Are you sure you want to do this? You don’t have to”
“I’m sure, Josh” I said getting out of the car.
He turned off the car and got out after me.
He led me to the front door.
“Josh?”
“Yeah, babe?”
“Are you going to open the door?”
“Oh,” he looked down at his hand. “Yeah, let’s go”
He opened the door and it got loud suddenly.
“Welcome to my family,” he said smiling as he closed the door.
Everyone was dancing, talking and eating. Josh really does have a big family.
A woman came over to us smiling; she looked a lot like Josh.
“Hello Joshua,” she kissed both his cheeks and pulled him into a big hug.
“And you must be Violet” she kissed my cheek and pulled me into a bone crushing hug. “It’s so nice to finally meet you. I heard so much about you. Gosh, look at you, you’re more beautiful than Joshua gives you credit for,” she hugged me again and I hugged back.
I smiled at her. “Thank you”
“Violet this is my mom, and mom this is the beautiful girl that stole my heart, Violet Meyer,” Josh said smiling down at me.
“It’s nice to meet you Mrs. Thomas,” I hugged her again.
Mrs. Thomas grabbed our arms and pulled us to the living room.
“Ahem,” she said loudly over the music.
The music stopped and everyone looked at her.
“Thank you. As you all know my little Joshua has fallen in love. The lucky lady is here with us tonight, he name is Violet Meyer. And yes she really does have purple eyes. So make her feel at home, let the party begin,” Mrs. Thomas stopped talking and the music started playing.
The rest on the night Josh never left my side. Family members came up to me giving my hugs and kisses. They told me embarrassing stories about Josh when he was younger.
All night everyone kept asking ‘when’s the wedding’ or ‘if you’re making babies’ or they would say ‘I want lots of kids’.
Josh managed to pull me away to show me around.
He’s house was huge and beautiful.
Lastly Josh led me to his room.
“Nice room” I said walking in.
“Thanks”
I sat down on his bed and he sat next to me.
“You know, your family isn’t as bad as you made it seem,”
He chuckled. “They wanted to know if we were making babies”
“Besides that, they’re nice, loving, and fun to be around,”
“Have I ever told you we’re awesome?” he asked pulling me on his lap.
“Once or twice,” I smiled.
“Well you’re awesome,” he said as he buried his head into my neck.
“You’re tickling me” I laughed.
“Sorry” he mumbled. “What are you thinking?”
“Nothing really”
Josh stared to kiss my lightly on my neck. He kissed down my neck and up again, like he was looking for something.
Then Josh kissed a spot on my neck that caused me to tense up.
He smiled. “Found it” he continued to kiss the spot on my neck.
I tried to escape but he held me tighter.
“Josh”
He ignored me and moved the kiss up my neck to my jaw. Then my cheek my nose then my lips. I kissed back imminently.
