Up above, I saw hope in the stars as they soared through the sky. I was lost in a forest I thought was familiar but how gravely I've been wrong. It's funny how a simple mistake can make a great difference. Can you keep a secret? I'm not originally from this world. Sure it’s just like the one I grew up with, with curvy trees, bouncy paths and flying cars but it felt different when I woke up. I know then and there that this is not where I belong. How can I explain you may ask? Well first off, people around me just started calling me by Allina when that is by far a lot different from Skye; and it’s not a boy’s name. Also, the people around me changed; my twin siblings were not at all blonde, they were redheads just like me. They go by the names Starr and Silver. Starr is my best friend ever, she’s like my partner in crime and so far, that didn’t change. I’m only a year older than them so it’s not hard relating our girl issues. She also looks a bit more mature than her twin brother. Silver, on the other hand, is like a little devil. He loves playing tricks on everybody with his infamous grin. He was always doing pranks on me; that was before three years ago though. Our parents went missing then, we didn’t know where they went.

There was a knock on the door; by that time, I was preparing dinner. I have always prepared our meals since my parents are too busy with our family business and the twins still don’t know how to cook and even if they do try to offer help, everything would just get messy. I rushed to the door expecting to see mom and dad side by side. “I’m coming! Don’t worry Ma, I cooked your favorite vegan dish,” I said while reaching for the doorknob. When I saw who was on the other side of the door, I immediately knew that there was something wrong. “Good evening Madame. Is this the Claud residence?” Said the man in uniform. “Yes,” I replied, with a slight sound of worry. “May we come in?” another said. At first, I hesitated but nodded slowly and let them pass through.
“What do you need, officer?” I started, finally breaking the silence. “I’ll go right to the chase. I’m Officer Wright and we’ve come to arrest your parents,” “For what?” “They attempted to kill the governor.” “Well, they are not here yet,” I said simply, “Please escort yourself to the door.” I wasn’t shocked of the reason why, but discovering that they got caught in the act was really surprising. Isn’t it obvious why? It’s supposed to be a secret but I guess I can tell you now. We kill people for a living; that’s our family business. We’re even the highest paid, well at least Mom and Dad are. We three are still training so they only give us low-profile missions. So in short, yes, we are a family of assassins.
It has been weeks when that fateful night have passed and everyday since then, the police comes to our house and insists that our parents should stop hiding and just surrender. They didn’t believe us when we said that Mom and Dad have not come back yet and that that was last news we heard about them. After a year or so, the police finally gave up on looking for my parents in our house but my parents also never came back after that.

So now you know our little secret. If you ever try to say that to anyone else, I’ll kill you before you even blurt out a syllable. Oh, and the pranks my brother does that I’m telling you? Those are his new techniques to trap someone. You better keep your mouth shut from now on.
At school, the persons I technically decided to hate forever were allegedly my best friends; note that they are the bitchiest people you can ever imagine. Celeste, their leader, is a cheerleader of course. Yes, I know, it’s so cliché having a cheerleader as the bitchy leader but that was her original identity; now she’s the complete opposite. She is now a certified nerd, geek, dork, etc. If you could see her now, you would never believe that this was once a cheerleader. The clothes she wears looks like it was bought from an old woman’s closet with a faded sweater and rainbow legwarmers. She’s even wearing glasses with those thick lenses! But she’s not the only one. Her whole gang of bitch cheerers also turned into a group of nerds. Every single one of them! And my original circle of friends was apparently the ones who bully me. They become popular that everyone around them was practically drooling when they walk by. My best friend, Nina, is now the president of our student council who was invisible from everyone since we started going to school. And apparently, we were enemies since birth. I couldn’t imagine how we became enemies in this world. I’m definitely lost in forest of people I thought I knew.
Before I even forget and end this chapter, let me introduce myself as well. Well duh, I am the main persona here so the story can’t continue until I’m satisfied with my introduction. As you’ve already read, my name is Skye. Cornelia Skye Claud, actually. Weird name, huh? Mom said that Cornelia was named after my great-grandfather and Skye was what she has always wanted to name her first child. I couldn’t argue nor complain since it's already been done. I’m still training to be an assassin but I’ve already done some missions that no normal teenager can ever do. If I were to be ranked, I would have the level of skills as a black-ops but of course that is no near the skills of my parents. My uncle is the one who trains me since he’s already retired and my parents are always away on missions. Oh! I almost forgot; I’m only 16 years old and my birthday is on the 9th of July. My red hair is cut short so it wouldn’t be an obstacle if ever I would be in a battle. Okay, now I can say that I’m contented with my introduction. Now, back to the story we go.
