It was a frosty winter morning as Shehry (Shehryaar) blew off Hussain's ears by drumming on the latter's guitar tonelessly. "Stop it man! What are you doing?" Hussain said in his hot morning voice as he covered his ears with a large white pillow. "Get up! You don't wanna go to school today?" Shehry screamed in his ears. "Alright, what time is it?" Hussain asked still in half sleep. "Eight thirty ok! You've got only thirty minutes to get ready so GET UP!"
By the sound of time, Hussain abruptly fluttered his eyes open, ignoring the morning sun rays that burned his eyes. "What? It's been so late? Why didn't you even tell me?" Hussain said as he got out of bed instantly, almost tripping off his feet, as he rushed to the bathroom. "Bro, I've been drumming on your guitar like a mad person for the last twenty centuries, but there was no sign of you getting up!" Shehry replied as he got Hussain's breakfast ready.
"Okay man, catch ya' later, I'm running so late today!" Hussain said as he grabbed his backpack with all the papers of his assignment falling out. He got out of the building to the streets and to his horror; he found the last bus to school meters away. He said to himself that it'd be a time waste to run after the bus because he wouldn't catch it anyways; so the only choice that was left was to run to school.
Without paying attention, he bumped into a girl and dropped all of her stuff to the ground. Instead of helping her, he just ran off as if he was in the Olympics or something. "Scoundrel!" The girl yelled from distance.
"What happened, Jiya?" the girl's friend asked. "Just some dumb person running away after dropping all my things down, what a terrible day I'm telling you!" Jiya replied as she picked up all the paper that was flying in all directions. "Let it be nah, come on, we're moving to a new apartment! It's a fresh start for us!"Her friend, Arzoo reassured her. "Yeah, I hope there's a little sense in what you're saying!"
After all the running session, Hussain finally reached college and bam he was half an hour late. He entered class and the Mathematics period had already started and about to finish as well. He quietly sneaked into his seat, next to his two best friends, Atif and Waqas, while the professor had his back to the class.
"Dude, you're so late!" Atif said as Hussain got his books outta his bag. "Yeah, had a rough night completing the project..."
"Mr. Asif, you're so late in class anyway, now instead of talking and blabbering why don't you take notes before I wipe it all off." The professor told him with his back still facing the class.
After the mathematics class, they had a free period so Hussain, Atif and Waqas headed to the school library to get the maximum notes they could get so that they could complete their assignment and submit it by the afternoon. Hussain headed to the first library section while Waqas and Atif went to the other one, looking for the "Rule 192 of Law" book. Hussain dug deep into the shelves but not a single sign of the book. He took a 200 pages book and laughed out loud at the cover of the book. After the librarian glared at him for like centuries, he put it back and dropped another 200 pages book. As soon as he laid his hands on the fallen book, another hand as well reached the book. When he raised his chin, he could feel his heart skip a beat. There stood the girl of his dreams, his crush, Sarah. "Hey, uhm I was guessing if I could have this book instead?" Sarah asked him with her nerd glasses on and her hair in a bun. "Wow this girl was a gift from god" thought Hussain. "Hello, are you listening to me?" Sarah said as she waved her skinny hands in front of him bringing him back on earth from his deep thoughts. "Oh yeah, hmm I'm sorry but I found it first, so no I'm sorry..." Hussain nodded, ready to walk away. "Listen to me, look I really need this book like really REALLY need this book. I have to finish an assignment which I have to submit in two days and if I don't I'm really gonna fail the finals this year, please I promise I can give you money for that!" Sarah pleaded in front of him. Her nose turned blood shot red due to her fair skin. Her stress could be clearly shown. Hussain could just stare at her for hours; even if this room was burning he wouldn't even notice. He was so lost in every structure of her face. Her rosy lips, her cute little nose, she was just a girl to die for. "Please just give me two days and I promise I'll give it back later!" she requested him one last time with a puppy face.
Hussain was so into her that he didn't even find the guts to refuse her. Well he had to give a good impression after all first impression is last impression. "Ok, I'll give it to you but you have to leave me your number so that I can contact you." Hussain smirked.
Sarah took the pen in her hair, which let her hair loose as she removed it. "She looked even better with loose hair" thought Hussain. She wrote her number on Hussain's forearm and walked away happily with the book.
"Dude, we've been watching you for a while, what did you just do?" Atif asked him. "Yeah man, we've been looking for this book for a whole century and you just give it away like that?" Waqas said at his turn. "Hey Hussain, we're talking to you!" Hussain had his eyes fixed on Sarah. Wow that girl was driving him totally crazy. She had totally awakened the guitars in his heart that started playing uncontrollably. He was already in love with her. Atif nudged him hard on his backhand and he came out of his thoughts. "Let it be man, he seems to be so lost anyways." Waqas said as he left with Atif. "Guys listen to me! Come on don't make it such a fuss! Guys?" Hussain ran after them.
