Vespian: The Last Legacy

Prologue

        The Drakes, the biggest, strongest dragons to live here on Earth. They've been here ever since the dinosaurs were alive, roaming around protecting Earth and all of it's inhabitants. They were the first animals to live on this planet before humans arrived. Once the humans came to Earth, the drakes risked their lives to protect the new breed that was now living with them. From that day on, the drakes and humans were a package deal, the drakes being the human's teachers and protectors, the humans being the drake's friends...that was until the war. 

        As time went on the two races became so comfortable with being around each other that a human and dragon fell in love with each other. The female human's name was Victoria and the male dragon's name was Glacier. The two of them had a bond so strong that nothing on Earth could separate them from each other.  The drakes didn't have a problem with the two races being connected through blood, but the humans did. They believed that by connecting the two races by bloodline, it would cause the dragon genetics to begin taking over the human race, leaving no more human characteristics left in the generations to come. The love that Victoria and Glacier had also caused royalty issues because Glacier was a leader, making Victoria the queen of the dragons. The humans were comfortable with the dragons being with them but not connected with them.

        The disagreement between the two caused the biggest war the humans had ever known. It was the strength and powers of the dragons against the technology and firepower of the humans. It was a balanced fight that killed many dragons and humans, leaving the battlefields stained with blood and determination. Glacier and Victoria were kept safe by the dragons that protected them with their life because they knew the secret that the two never released. Victoria was pregnant with the first hybrid child to exist on Earth. The dragons knew the potential that the baby held and gave countless lives to keep the mother and her child safe. 

        As the war dragged on, the baby was born in hiding and kept safe. The dragons cared for the hybrid baby but they were not able to care for Victoria. After giving birth, she was in terrible condition, starving and worn out. Glacier stood by her side caring for his baby until she took her last breath, her last words being "keep our child safe..I will always love you." Glacier was filled with anger and used his anger to avenge his lover's death. He died in battle but before he died, he held his child for the last time and kissed her goodbye, naming her Victoria after her mother. Glacier and Victoria were buried next to each other after the war was over and the dragons were sent to live elsewhere by the humans, bringing the secret hybrid child with them.

        The drakes found a new home a year later up in the stratosphere of Earth which they named Pelepsy, continuing to watch over the humans from the skies. There, they raised the baby Victoria with all their love and care and kept her safe with them. Victoria was an active, healthy child but she became lonely with nobody her own size to be around. She had a few patches of scales, the tail, the wings and the eyes of a drake but she was still the size of a human. She needed to be with her other half so the dragons let her leave and sent her to a small, cozy home out in the forest where nobody would find her. They sent the grandfather and grandmother of her mother with her to protect her and keep her from being found.

        She was much happier down on Earth where she would fly around in the forest around her but one day she flew too far from home and was spotted by a male about her age. She fly away as fast as she could but the curious boy named Soaren couldn't keep himself away from Victoria. He was willing to do anything he could to stay with the beautiful Victoria so he ditched his home in the city to live with her and her family. Victoria and Soaren fell in love as time went on and lived together for that day on in peace and harmony. As they got older they decided to have a child to be able to hold in their arms. After trying and trying, they finally had a baby girl. After Victoria gave birth to Vespian they ran into the issue of not being able to get her the medical attention she needed afterwards, resulting in Victoria passing away from blood loss. Soaren was absolutely crushed when the love of his life passed away and promised Victoria that he would raise their child in her name. He named the child Vespian because of his wife's fondness of the name and her wish for that to be the name of her first child. 

        Soaren raised little Vepian alone after Victoria's grandparents passed away together of old age. He loved Vespian with all his heart and gave her everything he could raising her to love herself and keeping her safe from the outside world. As Vespian got older, tensions grew between the Drakes in Pelepsy. They began to need their rightful leader Vespian back with them.  A rebel group that was against the existence of a hybrid on Earth began to rise up and make riots against the guardians who were the government leaders of the Drakes. They needed their queen Vespian to end the riots, but they weren't certain that she was ready to discover the truth. Vespian is now the key to the peace in Pelepsy and the future of hybrids.
