"How did it even come up to this?"
Seung Erim, a highschooler that wished for the last year of highschool to go smoothly. Planned to join the art club but for the second time in school history, it was full. She was lucky when she got to joined the last time it was full but not today.
She was holding her documents and positively sure that she wrote 'Art Club' on the club section and sent it early to the office, got to secure the spot. But in the end, she received her documents back with the words 'no way'.
What written on club section is the 'Drama Club'. Out of all the clubs they could give her, it has to be the club that she has no interest in a slightest bit. She would still accept if it's chess.. But drama club?
"Eri!" she heard someone called her. She turned her head and saw one of her bestfriend, Lee Keonhee running toward her with his documents.
"Hey! What club did you got?" she asked desperately. Trying to reach out for his documents but Keonhee stopped her.
"slow down, what's the rush?" He asked, amused by her sudden behaviour.
You see, Eri is a pretty slow person so her sudden eagerness was a bit shocking and amusing for Keonhee.
Suddenly, Kim Junhyo showed up. "What's wrong here?" Jun is also her bestfriend, longer than Keonhee with Eri. Jun has always been with Eri since childhood while Keonhee, when they started middle school. Three peas in a pod.
"Jun! Show me your club!" Eri frantically shaking Jun's arm.
"Okay, okay.. Here" She passed it to Eri. She immediately scanned the paper and saw 'Dance club'.
Eri nodded "good for you, Jun". Not good for Eri though cause she wanted someone to be in the same club as her.
Every year, Jun joined the same club and still got it? Wish had her luck. "Keonhee!" Eri turned towards the tall boy,her last hope.
"Here" His eyebrows furrowed while smiling.
She saw the club section and it was 'drama club'. A big sigh of relief escape from her mouth and gently pat his shoulder. "Thank god!"
Keonhee tilted his head, a sign of confusion. "what do you mean? I have always been in the drama club".
"I know, just for confirmation.. Atleast there is someone" Eri thought. She felt her documents was snatched and she looked at Keonhee and Jun reading it.
"You joined the drama club?!" both of them said at the same time, bewildered with Eri's choice.
"Well, yes.. But no" Eri shook her head. "I never even wanted to join but it ended me joining it?"
"There must be a mistake.. Have you tried talking to the office lady about it?" Jun asked.
"You know me, I tried to but i can't.. Just have to accept this" Eri wiped her non-existent tear.
"Girl, you have to stood up for your self" Keonhee sighed and ruffled her hair, Eri mumbled "its not like I dont want to but you know courage".
"Want us to talk to her?" Jun offered.
"Nevermind.. Poor that lady. Plus, this is nice change of pace" Eri denied the offer.
"But you never like changing pace, you mostly wanted everything to be the same pace" Keonhee chirped.
"I know.. But hey, last year of highschool. As long as I don't attract attention, I will be fine" She gave a thumbs up with the back of her mind saying "hopefully".
"Well.. Suit yourself, honey" Jun gave her a worried smile and Keonhee nodding.
"Dont worry, the drama club is nice.. " Keonhee reassured her with uncertainty in his voice.
"Who else entered?" Eri asked.
"Well, Son Dongju.. He's my seatmate in class and I think you met of him before" He answered while tapping his chin.
"Son Dongju.. Oh! That guy who has a twin from the music club, Son Dongmyeong and once eaten with us during lunch!" Jun answered.
Memories flooded Eri, she snapped her fingers. "Oh that guy! Who else?"
"I think most of the members are people you know.. And I heard Bae Yoora suddenly joined this year" Keonhee frowned.
"Bae Yoora?! That girl?! Ugh.. Let's hope what you heard isn't true, Keonhee.." Jun crossed her arms, frustrated.
"Bae Yoora, one of the hottest girl in school. God, even if its true.. Please dont let me have any interaction with her" Eri silently prayed for herself and the drama club.
"Thanks, Keonhee" Eri sighed. Keonhee gave a thumbs up in return "you're welcome".
"Tomorrow is the first club meeting. How will it go?" Eri sighed and looked at the blue sky.
"Dont worry, it's the last year. And you're with me" Keonhee proudly pointed at himself.
"don't forget me.." Jun pouted.
Eri chuckled.
"That's right, this is the last year".
