My new year started with a bit of a TWIST,

                                                  no matter what happened,

we still danced with all our GIST.

We didn't care who was a FRIEND, COMPANION, or FOE,

some people doing too many OVERACTIONS though.

                                                 They PUSHED and SHOVED,

                                                 BLAMING and making FUN.

                                                       This was one reason,

I REGRETTED the dance I had done.

                                             However, I really liked DANCING,

especially when BOLLYWOOD SONGS were on,

                                                      but what should I do,

if only ONE friend was fond.

But I'm just writing these in the POEM,

I didn't really CARE at that moment,

                                      even if people weren't INTERESTED

in seeing my new dance moves,

                                                       -very IGNORANT.

But we danced all through the NIGHT,

leaping up and down at great HEIGHTS,

                                        EXPOSING all our dance styles,

not caring that because of SOUND pollution,

                                       the police were getting DIALED.

The disco lights made the tennis court so BRIGHT,

                                                   dyes of COLOURS,

                                                 so VIBRANT in sight.

We didn't show a hint of GRIEF,

                                        shouting out, 'BYE-BYE 2019!

The host was instructing us what to YELL,

telling us how much TIME was left until 2020 would DWELL.

                                            I looked at my WATCH,

                                            only 30 SECONDS left,

                                       we counted down in SYNC,

                                                    ending 2019,

                                 without any HESITATION or CRINGE.
