Chapter17:Moments lived for
Opening my eyes, light was around me. White walls, white sheets. I opened them more there was a little girl on a women's lap asleep. They didn't seem to notice me awake, I turned my head a little more and there was Matt and Tyler asleep in another chair. "Matt." I whispered my voice raspy. "Matt where am I?" He eyes snapped opened. "Your awake." "Where am I?" "Hospital. Tyler wakes up." He said shaking Tyler. "What?" Tyler groaned. "She's up get the doctor and the others." Matt demanded. As he was talking a grabbed his hands pulling him close to me. I couldn't think of anything but being with him. For him to hold me where I know I'm protected.
Tyler bolted out of the room. "Matt, what happen?" "You had a stroke. They say it was due to stress. It was not bad and seemed to cause no damage." "Oh."I sat up in the rickety bed and went to get off the bed. "No, don't we don't know if it affect your legs." Matt said hovering over me. "Matt, I'm fine let me at least try and walk." "No. Why do you want to walk so badly?" "I want to hug you." I whined. Matt sat on the bed and wrapped his arms around me, as I laid down my head on his shoulder.
"Mrs. Fox, you are very lucky." The doctor said walking in. "If I was lucky, it wouldn't have happen. It's not luck it's destined." I said in a small whisper. "Well, yes I guess that is true. How are you feeling?" "I'm good, but when can I go home?" "We have to see if you can walk and if there are no complications you can get out by tomorrow." "Rose!" James yelled. "Dad!" I yelled back as he opened his arms for a hug. At first he gave me a peculiar look, but that slid into a smile.
I berried my head into his chess. "James can you do me a favor?" I muffled into his chess. "Anything." "Can you adopt me? I know it's only a month but I want to say that your my dad." "Of course and even if I didn't, I’ll always be your dad." "Thank you." "umm..." The doctor said awkwardly standing there. "We need to run a test. I’ll send down a nurse to bring you to the physical therapy room." "Ok."
A few minutes later a women appeared with a wheel chair. "Honey, I'm here to take you." "Ok." I said standing up off the bed. My legs felt like Jell'O, but they were working in. Matt snaked his arm around my waist guiding me to chair. I interlocked our fingers, "Can you come?" "Well, I wasn't going to leave you." He said sarcastically. We walked down the hall with the nurse behind me pushing the wheel chair.
When we eventually got to the room, Matt had to stay outside. "Rosy, right?" Said peppy blond women. I nodded my head. "Ok, well I'm Shirley. I’ll be checking if you can leave tomorrow. Can you stand up for me?" I stood out of the chair. "Good, can you walk to me?" Shirley said. I walked to her with no problem the Jell’O like felling went away and I felt as strong as ever. "Wow, ok can you run?" With one swift movement I ran across the room. "Ok, I just need to run one more test and then we will see if you can get back to sports." "Ok." "Oh, and you can tell the person waiting in the hall that he can come in." I ran to the door, "Matthew, you can come in. It's only one test left." "Matt, had to leave. He needed his cast off." Coach said standing up. "Coach!" I yelled running and hugging him. "Can I still come and see how my best player is managing after a stroke." "Of course come on." I said
"Ok, I need you to jog on the treadmill while I monitor your heart." I got on the treadmill and started to run. I don't know how fast I was running just running. I live the feeling of running, I'm free. There nothing holding me back and I can do as I wish. No thinking about school, football or my father, just running. After about ten minutes of just running, I couldn't breathe. My heart beating fast and it felt as if I was breathing from a straw. "Wow, ok you need to stop." Shirley said. "Is that from the stroke?" Coach asked. "No, I've had it forever." I said getting off the treadmill. "It's due to the small hole in your heart, according to your records, but is it usually that fast?" "No." "Ok, well you can do football, but you have to take it pretty easy for two weeks, don't over work yourself and give it time to heal." She said sighing a paper.
Coach and I walked back to my hospital room. All seven guys where in the room. Chris and Nate arguing. Mark and Ross watching TV. Ben and Tyler reading and Matt talking to two little girls. "Guys we have our caption, back." Coach said as we walked into the room. "You can still play." "Yeah, I can beat anything." I said walking to Matt. "Rose, this is Dales girls, him and Kim just went to get them some food. Jenny, Caitlyn this is Rosy." "Hi Rosy." The adorable little blond said as a sat on the bed. "Hi." "Rosy, sounds like roses and roses are pretty." Said a cute little brunette. "Thanks."
Both of the little girls jumped up on to my lap. "I have a pet turtle name turtle neck." Said Caitlyn. "And mines named chocolate milk." Jenny said. "Really, I'd love to meet your turtles." "Yeah, you should come and we can play with the turtles and my bunny." Said Jenny. "A bunny too?" "Yeah, Jenny calls him whiskers, I call him fat bob." Caitlyn said while pushing her blond hair out if her eyes.
"Rosy, do you want to go for a walk?" Jenny asked. "Sure, guys Matt and I are going for a walk with the girls." Spinning down the hall way Caitlyn started to sing in a little tea pot. "Lilly, talks about you a lot." Jenny said from my side. "Really?" "Yeah, she talked about when you, her, and daddy went to the zoo." "Oh yeah, your father ended up falling into the dear pen and they all started to attack him." I said through laughter.
"Oh no Rose, please don't tell me your corrupting my daughters." Dale said as we walked into the cafe. "But it's my job." "Daddy!" Caitlyn yelled running into his arms. "Rose!" Lilly called as her and Ben walked in to the cafe. Matt, Lilly, Ben, Dale, Kim, Jenny, Caitlyn and I ate dinner all laughing and enjoying the moments.
This is the moments we life for.

Note: Isn't that sweet?! It's adorable, I hope that 2 chapters make up for them being so short. Honestly I've been thinking about putting this under short story when I finsheing posting all of it. Fully done on word its only 56 pages with a cover page. Tell me if you think it should be under short story or not? Maybe just maybe I'll be really nice and post the next chapter while I'm thinking of it.
