First day of classes for my junior year at the University of Tennessee. I have already been on campus for the past couple of weeks because of football but it will be nice to have other people around other than the sports teams. I am the starting quarterback for the Vols and our team has been here together running through workouts and practice.

Rolling over and looking at my blaring phone alarm and sigh. Another day. Another workout. Another practice. Another year of college. Just another year.

Getting out of bed I grab a pair of workout shorts and throw on a t-shirt.  This  morning I am working out with the team and then I have a class. Most of my classes are in the morning so I can have afternoons open for practice. I throw on my socks and sneakers, grab my phone, and head out of my bedroom.

I live in a house with my teammates. For the most part it isn't bad sharing a house with three of my teammates: Marcus Sampson aka Fridge, Bo Champ, and Jay Williams. We rented an apartment of campus about half-mile. It's a good warm-up jog to get on campus.

Every morning I have the same routine and so do the guys in the house. Heading downstairs I see the guys at the kitchen island.

"Yo, you all ready to go?"

"No," is there collective response. Slackers I tell you. If they didn't stay up so late they wouldn't be so tired. I grab a football laying on the table next to the door and open the door. "Come on losers, first day of classes, which means people besides your ugly asses." Shaking their head and laughing the guys follow me out the door.

We jog to the green, like every morning we throw the football to each other. We play a little scrimmage game to get our blood rushing and having fun before we have to hit the gym and get the real work in. As the quarterback, it is usually me throwing the ball but we are all playing and Fridge throws a pass to me. Of course, it is no where near me and I have to run like hell to get it. I turn to look for the ball in the air and make the catch. I turn quickly and run into a girl. I wrap an arm around her and pull her as close to me as I can then reach up and grab the football.

I drop the football to the ground and look down to be greeted with the brightest, blue eyes I have ever seen. A beautiful baby is staring up at me with the cutest smile that shows a dimple that will have boys drooling at a very early age. Instead of letting them go, I pull them a little closer. I look past the baby and see a gorgeous head of auburn curly hair. I wonder if her momma has the same eyes and smile.

The beauty in my arms says, "You know you can let us go now, right?" Yeah, not going to happen. She fits perfect in my arms and feels so good. I haven't even looked at her yet but I know she is someone special to me. I can feel it.

"Why would I want to, I have two very beautiful ladies in my arms right now, that has never happened before," I say.

"I doubt that," she mutters.

I need to apologize to her. The baby is still looking at me, smiling as big as she can. I think I am in love."I am sorry for hitting you by the way," I say as I smile to the baby.

"No harm, you caught us and kept us on our feet. Thank you for that. You could have let us fall"

"Not a chance. My name is Jake, what's yours pretty lady?" I says looking at baby.

"Ja-n-I-e. You're pretty," she replies and then ducks her head under her momma's chin. I see her momma sneak a peek up to me. I was right - absolutely stunning. She has no idea she just sealed her fate with me with that one shy look. She hugs the baby, I mean Jannie, closer to her. I don't know why I have them both in a pretty tight hug against me, neither one is going anywhere.
