My Life

Each day in my life was monotonous: I would wake up at 6am sharp, get ready for work, go to work, come back from work, read my book, cook dinner, eat and then sleep. The only thing which changed was what I wrote in my diary, in my diary was many wishes which I never revealed to anyone. I was satisfied with my life, however I sometimes feel that there is something more to life than just this daily routine. I wanted to live life, enjoy life, fulfil my dreams but then I would get used to the fun and wouldn’t want to return to my monotonous life. My grandmother, was the only person I had lived with and my house in St. Ives was the only house I had lived in. My grandmother has always pushed me to enjoy my life and step outside St. Ives but I haven’t ever taken her advice. I love my grandmother, I really do she’s one of the coolest grandmothers I’ve ever met: she gave me advice on fashion, looks, and boys. She insists that I have a boyfriend but I haven’t ever taken her advice on that either. I think you know enough about me now.

Friday

It was a cold and dull day in December. As we got nearer to Christmas all my colleagues from the bank invited me to Christmas parties. I was eager to attend them however, one side of my head wanted to go. As I opened the invitation letters, my grandmother walked in.

“So many invitation, and how many of them will you go to?” asked my grandmother.

“Probably none,” I replied.

“Why not,” said my grandmother “You are a young and pretty girl, you should be enjoying your life, not sitting here in a box with work on your mind.”

I thought once again, maybe my grandmother was right. Even I have no clue why I’m sitting here letting work overpower me. I had decided, I will attend the parties. I informed my grandmother that I was going to attend the parties. She rushed back to her bedroom and returned with the most gorgeous dress I had ever seen.

“Take it, it’s yours now,” she said “I wore this dazzling dress the first time I met your grandfather, let’s hope that this dress helped me find my true love, it’s going to help you find yours.”

I gave her an annoyed look, as I’m not the sort of person who’s interested. However, I was too excited for the party the next day that I didn’t bother replying.
