Emerging from a cave dipped in-ground and darkness, much has changed for this man.

Everything is extremely different but feels very similar. The term deja vu dissatisfies the overwhelming feeling in his gut, a feeling of awe and vexation.

"Where am I? Who ... Who am I?"

Across a barren plain, he walks to find any sign, anything to make him come to grips with his misplaced reality. But something strikes him, a vision from the past. A picture of a child springs up in his blanked mind. One that is both beautiful and innocent, laughing and apparently happy. He can't help but feel a very intimate connection with this shadowed thought. He walks until his feet blister and his shoes falter. These, however, were very distinct shoes. It was of a deep blue color and had leather on the outside of it and wool covering the inner part. Most interesting about this shoe was a golden metal that spanned from side to side, with letters written across in cryptic form. The man didn't notice it yet, but soon he'll found out what it means.

After hours, nay, days of traveling through the land with no one in sight, he takes the sky to be his only companion. The stars were emitting a silver light that danced alongside shooting celestials. His surroundings slowly faded into the black of the night, and it was almost happenstance that one particular glow triggered another vision. But this wasn't so much a memory as much as an echo that played over and over every time he saw something flicker in a distance. It brought him to cringe and nothing this echo evoked was good. It was something of an absolutely sinister nature. One he knew all too well in his dreams but lost any recollection of in consciousness.

"AHHHHHHHH! WHY CAN'T I REMEMBER ANYTHING?! There must be something... there must be!"

Drenched in confusion and malcontent, he starts to run hastily in hopes of spotting someone, anyone. It was near dawn when he started his marathon, then the morning came and night again before he stopped his streak. Once he came to a halt, it hit him like a deer in headlights. He wasn't thirsty, he wasn't hungry, and he didn't feel any sort of physical pain or exhaustion. All he knew were feelings of loss, uncertainty, and a strong resentment towards some sort of higher thing. Some believe in God, others in a physical universe. This man believed in absolutely nothing. And he abhorred that nothing. In fact, sometimes his anger would manifest itself into an emotional surrender. He knew not what to hate, he just knew he hated it.

His ventures seemed obsolete, and nothing came of his efforts for an entire month. Then, it happens. He finally spots a group of people walking together in slow and deliberate motion. A rush of excitement and adrenaline bang him, and he starts putting everything he's got into his legs. Before long, he reaches these people and tries to find their head. Unfortunately for this man, he has yet to realize that life is filled with one trial after another. His first was finished, but his second had just begun.
