I sat down next to Drew, expecting to be scolded for my actions because his mouth was hanging wide open in shock.
"Damn! Nice shot! But why exactly did you slap him? I thought you were just getting a straw?"
"I was! But that dumbass thought he could het away with grabbing my ass!"
"That little scumbag! He'd better hope I don't get my hands on him!" I wasn't sure why Drew was acting so protective. We only met 2 hours ago after all. "Are you alright Alex?"
"Yes, of course. If anything, my hand hurts from slapping his thick skull so hard!" I joked. He didn't look like he believed me, but managed a little smile anyways.
Once break was over, Drew and I both walked to speech class together. Thankfully, I won't look like a complete loner like I did in English.
The room we entered for class was a computer lab. I wasn't sure exactly where to sit because there were already so many people. I stopped looking around and stood frozen when I felt Drew grab my hand. What the Hell? Why did he just-
"C'mon, there's two seats together in the very back." He tugged on my hand and led me towards them swiftly. Once we had arrived he immediately let my hand go and pulled a chair from the desk and beckoned for me to sit in it.
I sat down and he pushed my chair in, then took his seat right by my side. I turned my head towards Drew and gave him a funny look.
"What?" He asked indignantly.
"I just didn't expect you to be the gentlemanly type. You seem more like a 'get the Hell outta my way' kind of guy."
"Um, thanks?"
"Anytime," I replied sarcastically.
"Why'd you get so stiff when I grabbed your hand earlier? You've held someone's hand before, right?" he said in a joking manner.
"Of course I have!" I looked at him as though I were greatly offended.
"Your mom doesn't count!" he laughed even harder at this. I blushed and looked away. He immediately stopped laughing and his eyes got wide. "Wait, you seriously haven't ever held a boy's hand before? But you've atleast had a boyfriend before, right?"
"No! I've never had a boyfriend before and if you're going to make fun of me for it, it's nothing new. I've already heard all the jokes before."
"I'm not going to make fun of you, I'm just surprised is all. How could a girl as beautiful as you be single? I mean- uh-" he looked away and turned red. "Just the way all the guys look at you makes it seem like it wouldn't be that hard for you."
"I don't know what you mean by that. Guys never pay attention to me. I'm just a silhouette in the background of every painting, blending in with the background."
"Oh Alex, you have no idea how incredibly won-" he began, but at that moment, the portly Mrs. Hanson interrupted him.
"Gooooood morning class! I'm Mrs. Hanson, your speech teacher! Now, I want you guys to type up a paper over five things you did this summer." Every student in the classroom began groaning in annoyance.
"I don't want to hear it class! You can type the paper or we can take a pop quiz over the history of communication." The entire class immediately shut up and turned on their monitors. I looked at Drew and he looked back at me. He smirked then went straight to writing his paper. I wonder what he was gonna say earlier?
