I slump on the couch, my head resting on my dad's shoulder, man am I zonked! I was about to drift off to sleep when my dad, prods me awake. "Sweetie, did you hear her?" He asks.
"No..." I mumble, not really caring, the twins sure can tire me out.
"I'm having a baby!"
My head snaps up. Ow! I now have a crick in my neck. Great! My eyes widen in surprise. I gape at her. She is still smiling, my dad is too. Well, I'm happy he's happy. I smile at her and now it's her time to gape. She did not know how much I want a baby sister. "Good for you!" I say happily. The twins are jumping up and down, I run over to join them. "Guys! We're gonna have a little sister or brother!" It better be a girl...
I go over to hug Julie, at first she's surprised, then she hugs back. I abruptly stop. "This does not mean you are all the sudden my mom." I clarify.
"I know sweetie," she says. I would usually never let her call me that, but just this once I will let it slide. "I never will replace your mom. But, I do want to be your friend. I'm here for you." She reassures me. I nod, a silent tear making it down my cheek. I quickly wipe it away and head up to my room.
A/N- Heartfelt right? Haha! That part is shorter than I wanted it to be, but oh well. Don't expect her to be little miss softy though! In the next part I was going to make a voice inside her head but, every book lately is doing that, so I'm not. Plus, that's a little weird... Okay... where was I?
I run up the stairs, almost tripping, but I manage not to fall. I don't know why I did that. "I just want Dad to be happy." I reassure myself, though I wasn't really sure. Maybe, just maybe, she isn't that bad? I shake the thought out of my head. I wasn't going to let this get to me.
I lie on my bed and stare into space. Am I really happy? I should, but being me, I usually wouldn't. Suddenly, my phone vibrates. It's from Connor.
-Had fun at the beach, huh.-
I can just see the smirk on his face.
-Yah, so much fun!-
I look over the sarcastic message before I hit send, right before though, the doorbell rings. I get up to answer the door, knowing who it will be, but the twins beat me.
"Hey Connor!" Cindy says, batting her eyelashes. I try to refrain from rolling my eyes and decide step in before this gets out of hand.
"Come on, we can go upstairs," I say. Connor lets out a sigh of relief. When we make it up the staircase I plop on the bed and he sits next to me. "You will not believe what happened!" I say, knowing what his next response will be.
"DON'T TELL ME!" He yells, rather loudly. He slightly blushes, normally no one can tell if he is blushing, but I can! That's what you get for being friends for so long. It's our thing to play a game when I say that, twenty questions, but only with seven. We are both very impatient and twenty is too big of a number. "Uh, does it move?" he asks.
"No, err, not yet. Six left!" I reply in a sing song voice. He looks a little confused. He will never guess it!
"Plastic?"
"No,"
"Bright colored?"
"Nope!" I say, popping the 'p'
"Black?"
I shake my head.
"I KNOW IT!" He yells getting excited. "A puppy!"
I smirk, "NOPE! But close... You only have two left!"
"Soft?" He rattles off, questionably.
"Kinda. Last one!"
"A kitty cat?" he answers, knowing he lost,
NOPE! "Sorry, babe." I reply sarcastically. "I WON! I WON! NANANA BOO BOO!" I yell, jumping on my bed like a five year old.
"GONNA TELL ME?" He asks.
"Neh. This is too much fun!" I reply, knowing it will completely bug him.
"What?!?"
"You heard me!" He gives me a dirty look, and then gives me a mischievous grin.
"Guess I'll go then..." I stare at him, giving him my best puppy-dog eyes. "You have the worst puppy-dog eyes ever!" He says, then chuckles, obviously finding it amusing. At least I distracted him... "I was gonna say that my parents are going away this weekend - I can stay alone - but, I plan on throwing a party there so... Wanna come?" He asks. "Not more than a couple people though." He adds, mimicking his mother.
"Who all is invited?" I ask, suspicious.
"Uhhh... You, maybe Mike, and Shannon." He mumbles the last name.
"Are you seriously asking her?"
"She happens to be my girlfriend."
"UGH!" I grunt. I am not going to this party whatsoever!
"Pretty, please?" He pleads, putting on a puppy-dog face.
"That cannot be better than mine!" I yell.
"It sure is!"
"NOT!" I yell!
"Yah, huh."
"Nuh, uh"
"Yah, huh."
"Nuh, uh"
"Yah, huh."
"Nuh, uh"
"Whatever! Are you coming or not?" He snaps.
"I guess, but do not even dare to ask me to be nice to her."
"I already made up my mind! I am going to ask you!" He yells, a grin growing on his face.
He leans over me, eyes big. IS HE GOING TO KISS ME? WHAT THE HECK!Suddenly, he grabs me and drops me - not very gently - to the floor and starts to tickle me!
"I WILL NOT AGGREE!!!" I yell in between gasps. He keeps going. "Fine! I will be nice to her!"
"Promise?"
"Yah, yah."
"Okay," He says, getting off me. "I gotta go now - see you later!" I walk him to the door and he starts to walk out. Then he turns around, as if was going to tell me something.
"I HAD MY FINGERS CROSSED!" I yell. Then I slam the door in his face. Ahhh, revenge!
