Katon is the use of chakra as a means of igniting oxygen molecules(or producing methane to ignite) to create anything from campfire to cook food with, to a flame that can turn sand to glass, melt metal into liquid in seconds, or even evaporate a lake in a single second. particularly effective against futon jutsu as the oxygen in the chakra infused air gives the fire even more fuel making it more dangerous and possibly accidentally making it into an immolating white flame. prominent users of the style of jutsu are the entirety of the uchiha clan and some members of the sarutobi clan (hiruzen, Asuma, konohamaru)
