It's been 18 whole weeks since the incident and things had just deteriorated between these couple. Atimes he doesn't come home, Habibah was now more confused than worried, was this the man she married, the one that paid her bride price? So what was happening? she had no one to tell of her husband sudden and strange behaviour. She didn't want to tell Alhaja( her mother) she would become more worried than she the wife. Alhaja had other things on her table.
Habibah had just two people she called her friends, Aisha and Faridah.
These three were primary school mates until Habibah stopped schooling because of no money but they still remain friends since they were neighbours. Aisha was the daughter of the tailor that sews the Emir's dress and all the royalties. So Aisha was a from a comfortable home, but Faridah was the daughter of a hunter as well as Habiba, So these two were fond of each other more.
Habibah woke up one morning feeling very heavy and sick all of a sudden. Dauda had gone out as usual, she didn't understand her system but decided that her health was the least of her worries right now. Dauda had become worse, no day goes without him insulting her. She decided to pay Aisha a visit since it has been long since they last saw each other. She prepared what she felt she could eat but when the food was ready she lost appetite immediately. She started craving for something else entirely which was weird.
She managed to take some spoons of rice out of the food she made. She made her way to the bathroom when she felt so uneasy in her stomach and the next thing she ran to the toilet to throw up, she didn't see that as anything though she felt she had thrown up as a result of the lack of appetite.
She had her bath and began to prepare to visit Aisha, at least let her be out of the house and get her mind of her husband for some time. Aisha was a very good listener so she decided to call her up that she was coming over.
But before she left the house she threw up for the second time now she was worried. She had called Aisha already that she was coming so she had to visit if not she wasn't feeling to well at all.
