That was it. I dashed out of the school, fighting tears. Taylor had run away. I needed to find her. I sprinted home, ignoring the calls of my mother. I ran straight into the house and grabbed some necessities. A jacket, my frog hat, money, a flashlight, batteries, and a few other things.

Then I ran back out the door. I had put all the things in a bandanna and tied it to my walking stick. I had also grabbed an extra bandanna which I put on. When I reached thd next corner, I saw my mom's car pulling into our driveway. She stepped out and began calling my name.

Ignoring her once again, I continued to run. I knew where Taylor would go if she ever ran away. We had that conversation.

"I would run straight to the woods," she had told me.

"You don't know how to survive in the woods," I had said.

"Teach me. Anyway, how do you know about survival?" She had protested.

And I had made a big mistake by telling her about a time when I had run away. Unfortunately, I never taught her how to survive in the woods. She could be cold and hungry. I won't let her die.

I made a pit stop at a fast food place to buy a burger snd fries. After the meal, I continued the journey to the woods. It was about two miles from home. Taylor and I had memorizedthe way in case of an emergency.

I reached the sign that warned of bears in the area. I ignored this as well, and entered the woods. I was exhausted by this time, but I had to keep going. Taylor was a runner. She could run ten miles and not get tired. It was getting dark now. She would probably stop to rest. I decided to as well.
