I wold like to say beforehand that everything in this book and more specifically chapter is the characters thoughts

Laura's POV

It had been half of a year since we last saw my brother and his family we were going to meet at the mall with his family and some of Percy's friends

When we got to the mall everyone else was already there we introduced ourselves and were introduced to Jason grace who looked like a blond Superman, Piper McLean (did I spell that right?) Hazle Levasque (again did I spell that right?) Frank Zhang (it corrected that to Shanghai 🤣🤣) Leo Valdez,Calypso Nico Di Angelo, and will solace (they met Percy and Annabeth last chapter) we found out that Jason and piper were dating,Hazle and frank were dating, and that Leo and calypso were dating we also found out that Nico and will were in serious relationships

We walked around the mall stoping to get a few things before siting down to rest this was hard for my son considering that he had ADHD and dislexia it also seemed to be hard for the other kids when they saw us looking at them strangely they explained that they too had ADHD and dislexia so we decided to get ice cream and go for a walk in the park once we got our ice cream (we all got vanilla except for the fact that percy asked his to be died blue)

so we were walking through the the park when I noticed some thing strange Nico and will who said they were in very serious relationships were holding hands I stormed up to them and ripped their hands apart

"what are you doing I thought you said that you were in serious relationships?!?!" I shrieked

They looked at me like I was a idiot then will leaned in and gave Nico a peck on the lips. Then Nico said

"Let me reintroduce myself I am Nico Di Angelo boyfriend of will solace"

I looked at them in horror

This next part is the character and their thoughts I fully support everyone who is LGBTQ+

"Being gay is a sin!" I shouted

By then all of their friends had surrounded them in a protective circle and from the middle nico shouted

"Technically speaking I am gay and Will is bisexual"

Bens POV (he is Laura's son)

I stood there in horror as my mom yelled at two kids that she barely knew for being gay and bisexual

What would she think of me I mean she barley knew these kids but I decided that know was a good time I just hoped that at least the other kids would support me

I walked in front of my mom and steeling myself I said

"Mom, dad I am gay"

They stood there in shock then my dad started yelling at me

"You are gay you are no son of ours we are disowning you for this"

That was it I had no family anymore.

Then will and Nico came up and hugged me and I hugged back While the rest formed a circle around us. Then I was mad mad at my mom and dad no mad at Laura and Daniel for not accepting me for disowning me next thing I knew Laura and Daniel we're soaked and Annabeth was yelling at Percy

"What did we say about powers in front of mortals?!?!"

"It wasn't me" Percy retorted

They both turned and looked at me

"Do you happen to have ADHD and or dyslexia" Percy questioned

"Yes" I responded a bit curiously

"Come with us" Percy said smirking
