Today was the day I had been dreading but also looking forward to. It took Jamie a lot of persuading and begging but I finally decided to give in and go to this costume party Jamie's friend was having. He bragged about how it was going to be the best night of my life but I highly doubt that. I promised I would stay for at least an hour. I have never really gone to an actual party before. The only one I have been to was when I was three and the bouncy castle ended up deflating whilst I was inside so not the best of experiences. I've never had my own party. Alex never really had any either, it was probably because he was worried I would embarrass him or maybe her thought our house was too small. Jamie's friend was having a costume party and it took me a few minutes of going through my wardrobe to decide to go as a demon. Luckily, I had most of what I needed but I did need to go into town to grab one thing. "Alex I'm going out," I shouted.
"Get me some chocolate whilst you're out." I discarded what Alex said and left. I needed to find some black wings and I knew the perfect shop.
I reached a party shop called "Party Forever" that sold everything from party streamers to Hawaiian skirts which was in the costume part of the store which is the perfect place to find exactly what I was looking for. They had every colour of wings even multi-coloured ones and fortunately they had black ones which is what I needed. "Ellie, is that you?" I turned around and saw Melissa and Nicole stood by a stand of neon streamers, "what are you doing here? You don't exactly ever go to any parties." Melissa stated.
"Maybe she's having one for all her teddies," it was Nicole this time with her snarky comment.
"Actually, I'm going to be a party tonight with Jamie and some mates."
"Like you would ever invited to a party. You'll make the place smell like rotten eggs."
"Well I am. I need to go pay for this now so if you'll excuse me." I said as I pushed my way past them and headed towards the counter. I could hear them whispering in the background but I didn't care, it felt good to prove them wrong for once and it made me feel more confident.
I finally reached my house and I had two hours until I would have to leave to meet Jamie. I decided to make my hair seem really puffy and have more volume. For my make up, I had a red lip and a dark eye look. It was twenty-five past seven and I had just finished getting ready. I was wearing a black skater skirt, fish net tights, black ankle boots, a black and white stripped top, black wings, my black and white stripped sleeves and red contact lenses that I already had. I packed my bag and headed downstairs. "Ellie..." Alex said,
"What?"
"Do you even know where this party is?"
"No but Jamie does."
"Well I don't want you going."
"Good to know bye," I said as I walked out of my house.
I was stood in the middle of town with everyone looking at me. Where was Jamie? It was ten to eight and we had agreed to meet at quarter to. Did Jamie play a prank on me? Did he just want to embarrass me in front of everyone? "Boo!" it was Jamie. I jumped out of my skin and almost punched him.
"Nice cowboy costume," I replied.
"I like the demon look but you've made a mistake."
"What?" So many things were going through my mind. Did I go overboard? Did I look like a freak? What was wrong with me?
"I'm a pirate not a cowboy, can you not tell by my awesome hat?"
"That is clearly a cowboy hat moron."
"Oh, well the train leaves in ten minutes and we still have to get tickets."
"Wait, what? Why do we need to get a train?" I asked with a confused expression on my face.
