IN SEARCH OF HER DREAMS

chapter 3

                                                                          I woke up early even before the    alarm. Finally, I can go to school on time. I took a quick shower and put on a floral dress. I worked a little on my face by putting some eyeliner and a light shade of lip-gloss. I put my hair into a half pony. I hopped out of my room and went straight into the kitchen and took an apple from the fridge. Today I am not in a mood to eat breakfast. Food has always been my first preference. But today I lost my appetite and I still feel energetic. Maybe it’s because of him. Just because he comes in my dream it doesn’t have anything to do with him. He doesn’t know who I am And he doesn’t know about my dreams. He is just a student. That’s it.

          I walk into the living room with thoughts of him ruling over my mind. “Down to earth Ash. What bothers you so much?” my dad asks me as he was taking his files from the table. “ Nothing dad. I was just thinking about the test that is due today” I blurred out. “From when did you start worrying about your test?” my dad asked in a mocking way. Seriously Ash! Is this the excuse you could come up with? “Dad you will be late to your office. Bye, dad. See you later” somehow I managed it. I kissed my mom and started to walk to school, but my mind was still occupied by his thoughts.
           “Ash! Ash! Stop I’m coming too” my sister was running behind me. “Ash, what is with you? Did you see some ghost or something?” she asked me as she was gasping for air. “ It’s nothing Ava just keep walking. As we were walking, could hear someone behind me. As I turn behind I saw him and became dumbfounded. “Hai Ash!” he said with that same smile on his face. “OMG! Is this the guy.....” I closed Ava's mouth before she could finish her sentence. “Hai,” I said to him with a huge smile on my face. But how did he know my name? “How did  you know my name?” I asked him. “Ummm.... I heard your sister yelling your name” he said with a slight hint of relief on his face. Well, that makes sense though. “Do you live here? I haven’t seen you here before.” I know almost everyone near my house since I live here since I was born. “Yes, I moved here a few weeks ago. My house is a few blocks away from yours.” So he saw me when I came out of my house and didn’t even bother until I turned to see who was walking behind me. Great! “And what was your sister saying?” Hoo no he noticed it. Please, someone bury me. “She was asking if you are the new student” I managed. “Yes yes. She said that the was a new student in her class. Are you that new student?” my sister tagged along with my lie. “ Yes that’s me,” he said.

         We reached our school in a few minutes. “See you after school Ash!” my sister waved me as she was running to her class. We walked to my locker. “ So, see you in class Ash!” he said as he turned to walk to his locker. Shit! I didn’t ask his name yet! “Hey wait up. Sorry, I didn’t ask your name yet” I half yelled at his back. “Lorien” he said as he was going to his locker. Lorien Lorien Lorien...... My mind was completely blank except his name Lorien.

        I went to the class and sat next to my friend Mia. She was saying something to me but I couldn’t really concentrate on what she was saying. “I know that you’re not listening to what I’m saying. Come on, enlighten me. What happened to you today?”  she said with an annoyed face. What can I say? After all, she is my friend. She exactly finds out if there is any problem. “It’s freaking me out. See what I drew actually wrote last night In my dreams” I took out the note and showed it to her. Last night I didn’t draw anything. Rather it was a writing a name, Lorien. “What about this?” she asked with a confused look while she looked at that name. “Hai Ash! So we have history class together, huh?” there he comes again. “Yes. This is my friend Mia. Mia this is Lorien” I introduced them. Suddenly she closed the not in which his name was written. Just then the teacher entered and everyone settled in their places. Thankful Lorien and I share only history and english classes together.

     Finally, the school got over. Ava and I walked back to our house. As usual, I had to listen to my sisters companies. Speaking of her, she couldn’t keep her mouth shut. As soon as we got into the house she started to tell mom and dad about Lorien. “Mom, dad. You won’t believe what happened today. I saw the guy that Ash draws in her dream. He looks just like what she drew in her note.” Why can’t she keep her mouth shut? “Is it true? Did you see him?” my mom asked. “Yes mom. He is the new student in my class” I deadpanned. “What is his name?” dad asked from the other side. “Lorien” this name is disturbing me a lot today. We talked a while and then had dinner. I was so tired at the end of the day. All I was thinking about is Lorien and just like that I slept.
