Blaming Eyes

Half-Poet

It was 2017, I was in Vadodara, It was Wednesday, 4 pm in the evening, I went there to a hotel GMV Surya palace, nice luxurious, I had a meeting there with my boss in Cafeteria, I had never been to that hotel before so I was unaware of the location of the Cafeteria. A file in one hand and a messenger bag on the other shoulder, I thought to give it a try, locating Cafeteria myself, as soon as I started rotating my eye from my left to right, halfway on this fractional journey, I was caught by someone's attention, with her back on my side and draped in a turquoise blue saree, her official wear, open hairs with Khaleesi inspired twist, standing a few meters away from me, slender and thinness figure as I can guess from behind. Busy in conversation with one of the visitors mostly helping him out with his queries. At once my mind made a quick decision to ask her about the cafeteria. I stepped forward towards her after I had moved a couple of steps forward she herself turned.

A golden Mermaid I hadn't seen before, holding my all further movement to avoid any blurbification sight & to get a visible glance of her. With short steps she moves forward towards me, almost when she was four to five steps away from me I heard a voice, Nitin, I am here let's move, it was my boss. My mind was in a dilemma what to do, shall I go along with my boss or wait for her till she gets closer to me, as what I could make from her expression is she was going to ask me a question.

Every passing single second was crucial for me to decide should I stand or should I move.

"And I chose to move"

We went to the cafeteria, had our meeting there, discussed on the topics that we had planned.

After the meeting was over I had to take a printout of a worksheet that I had prepared while I was in the meeting, I went to the reception, to my surprise she was already there standing at one of the counters at the reception. My trudged movement turned into brisk steps. This time I didn't want to miss this chance again that I had already lost previously. As I was about to reach the counter where she was standing one of the other hostesses asked me a question.

How can I be of your service please let me know?

What was this, I couldn't understand, very awkward for me to ignore that other lady and move her, I was in abeyance, again a tug of war between brain and mind

"This time I chose to stay"

And ask that other lady can I get a printout of this soft copy.

Eyes to eyes gazing at each we both had a conversation.
In this conversation nothing was said but a lot expressed. I tried to persuade her and she blamed me for the situation.

She gave me the printout. I politely ask for an envelope. She covered the printout with that envelope and gave it to me.
And again with eyes to eyes, we bid our goodbyes.
