My Alarm. I hate nothing in the world more than my alarm. "Hey, Google. Stop." My alarm doesn't stop. I open an eye and look at my smartwatch. Sure enough, it's my phone alarm. I shut it off and sit up. 7 AM on a Monday is normally a bad combination. During quarantine, however, it's even worse. I reach over to my desk and press the power button on my laptop dock. I grudgingly get out of bed and walk over to my desk. I squint at the monitor, the bright light blinding me temporarily as my eyes adjust. I slowly type my encryption password in. Dragging my feet, I go to the kitchen and begin making coffee. I live alone, in a house debatably too big for just me. I grab my coffee when it's finished and head back to my room. I put on a hoodie and sit down at my computer. First thing I see is a message from my supervisor telling me to call her immediately. Reluctantly I call her. I know what this is. I've been falling behind on my work. I can't stay focused and it's showing. Just like I suspected, the laid me off until we come back from being in quarantine. I shut off my laptop and sit back, sighing loudly to myself. Before, I had work to keep me somewhat busy and sane. Now, I had nothing to keep me occupied. I start to think of things I can do. I could sit and browse Reddit all day, play video games all day, masturbate... I could go camping. I'll go camping. I get up and start packing my things to spend a few weeks at my camper. Thankfully, the state was nice enough to let campgrounds open. Packing everything in my truck, I drive out to my camper.
