Epilogue: On our way to the Mississippi
I quickly packed all my things together. I mustn't scurry too much, father would be disappointed.
As I finish up packing, I noticed that my good shoes were missing.I sighed. As father always said, I'm always losing things and wasting good money.I quickly looked around to see if anything was out of place, hoping I would find my shoes, Unfortunately no.Miriam had tided up my room perhaps she knew where my shoes were.
I quickly head downstairs to the maids kitchen and found Miriam preparing sandwiches for us to eat on the way to Mississippi."Pardon me, but did you happen to stumble upon my shoes, when tidying my room?"
Miriam looked up at me and smiled,"Ah yes, they were quite filthy so I took them to clean." I released a sigh of relief.If father found out, he would've kept me in the trunk of the vehicle for the whole ride.
Miriam frowned,"You should change into something else, I don't think your father would approve of what you're wearing."
I looked down at my dress.The sleeves were covered in filth and the dress itself was grimy. "Must've gotten it dirty when I was rummaging through my closet."Miriam made a face,"How filthy is your closet exactly?..." I shrugged.

After I had changed into a crisp baby blue frilled dress, I quickly went outside, where father was placing all the luggage into the trunk of the vehicle.
"Are you ready yet?" Father asked.I nodded and went inside the vehicle with a basket of sandwiches and wine.As we start to drive off into the distance, I can see the maids and butlers waving a farewell goodbye, Miriam is one of them. I smiled and waved back.
We had a long way till we get to Uncle Thomas's house. A house on The east side of the Mississippi.
