"Well, here we are, you're sure you're going to be okay", My father says.
My first day of college. First day of frat parties and girly sorority girls. Great, just great.
"Yeah, I'll be fine Dad, thank you.", I say as I get out of the car. I smell the fresh air and feel the sidewalk under my feet. It's hard and firm but the atmosphere makes it feel softer than it is as I stare at the University before me.
I hear my father yell to me," I love you and have a great week. I'll see you this weekend", as he drives off.
As I stare at the building in front of me, I close my eyes and breathe in the fresh California air. It smells like the saltiness of the sea and fresh asphalt. I start walking towards the building when I see a girl about 5'4 with long, golden beach waves. She has bright blue irises and freckles that seemed to be placed rather strategically. Her voice was modulated and very pleasant to listen to.
" Hello, my name is Mia, and I personally would like to welcome you to Stanford University", she says." What's your name?"
" Hello, My name is Gwen", I say. My voice is very small and silvery.
"Well, I understand how difficult it is to start college. Although, it's not as scary as you think, it's actually quite interesting if you want to call it that. Walk with me.", she says calmly.
I hear a shill, clicking noise that makes me jump. I looked down to see that Mia was wearing light yellow platform heels and a light yellow tea dress with a black waistband that seemed to pull the dress closer to her petite waist and the bodice of the dress hugged her curves well. I compared her beauty to my own as well as her style.
Her style was more fitted and proper compared to my style. My style is less fitted and looser. She wore a dress and heels, while I wore a light gray sweater with black leggings and a pair of black ankle boots.
We walked down the long linoleum corridor, and I looked at the groups of people. There were the slackers, the overachievers/nerds, the partiers, the jocks, the sororities, the frats, the cool kids, and the bullies. I thought I saw a few familiar faces but I ignored them.
Mia went over to her friends and motioned for me to come over. Mia's friends were all way prettier than me, the one to Mia's left had long, straight black hair pulled back into a high ponytail that gleamed when the fluorescent lights hit it in the right way. She had dark amber eyes and long eyelashes. She also had a birthmark on her right cheekbone under her eye. She was wearing black thigh-high boots and jean shorts. On the top half of her body, she had a spaghetti strap crop top with the word "Honey" on it.
The girl to the right of Mia was tall and thin, she had a style more similar to mine. She had a pair of white ripped jeans and a pale pink off-the-shoulder cropped top with a bracelet and a choker.
The girl with the choker looked at me and said, "Sup, My name is Sky, and you are?".
"Hi, my name is Gwen, nice to meet you.", I say shyly. Just as the other girl was about to introduce herself, I felt the weight in my chest build, and my stomach drops as I looked to my left. I felt my head hit the floor. My eyelids seemed to be getting heavier by the second. The last thing I saw was someone trying to help me up, but the last thing I heard was an older girl's screams saying, "everyone back away." Then it all went black.
