I was taking a nap one morning when I suddenly felt a presence in my room.
Was it my husband?
That's impossible because it was way too early and I know he wouldn't be home from work until after four in the afternoon. The bed sank a little and I had a sudden urge to look and say "Why are you home so early?" But I was too scared. I might end up seeing something I don't want to see. Thanks, scary movies. I did try to move, but I couldn't.
Then the creepiest thing happened. Someone started whispering unintelligible words in my right ear. No, stuff that. It wasn't someone. It was something.
The words were muffled and seemed like alien to me. I was lying down on my left side with a blanket over me and I was hugging a pillow. I still couldn't move no matter how much I try. Sleep paralysis, I thought.
Then I started to panic. My heart started racing and I kept praying for the voices to go away. Please. Please, go away. After my prayer, I braced myself and brushed my blanket off my body.
No one was there.
I told my husband about it when he came back from work but he simply laughed and said I was probably dreaming. Well, I'd like to think it was. But I don't know. It was just so real.
How about you? What are your scary experiences with sleep paralysis?
