“Wow, Rhiannon you look stunning!” my youngest sister Maddy says. I swivelled around in a circle to show off my baby blue graduation dress. “Thankyou Maddy. I’m certain you will too when your night comes!” I said as I leant down to give my sweet sister a kiss on the cheek.

I studied my dress in the floor-length mirror in front of me. It was embroidered in sequins under my bust where it gathered and fell flowingly to the floor. I was glad I won over with the strapless dress issue with my mum, because it suited me perfectly. The dress fitted in all the right places. I was so excited. This had to be one of the prettiest dresses I had ever seen, let alone worn.

My graduation was yesterday, and tonight the graduating class of ’12 were having a graduation “ball”.

This was it, tonight was the night. I had been waiting for this for years. I couldn’t wait to meet my friends there.

To: Rhiann, Ellie, Issy, Sophie, Avalon

Message: Hey grlz, so excited, I’ll meet u beauty queens outside in the LIMOOOOOO. Love ya all, Rhiannon.

I tapped send on my new iPhone 5, a graduation present from my favourite Aunt. As my mum and Tia, my second-eldest sister did my makeup and hair in an elegant side bun, with entwining half-French braids leading to the bun, I stared outside my window as my thoughts flooded my already spinning head.

What was I going to do after tonight?

What if my friends go somewhere else?

Where am I going to go?

Will I keep in touch with my friends?

Will I meet t…………………….

I was awoken from my daydreaming to find a beautiful girl staring at me in the mirror placed in front of me. Surely, it was not me. I didn’t think I was capable of such beauty. Her eyes were outlined perfectly with eyeliner and mascara of the perfect thickness and were surrounded with a perfectly balanced cream eye shadow with a tint of blue. Her blush and foundation were done exceptionally well, softly outlining her natural beauty. She had cherry lip gloss on her lips, giving her smile a fragrant shine. I couldn’t believe it actually was me.

After a few minutes my friends arrived in the long black limousine. I have to admit, they all looked beautiful. My dad took a few pictures of all us girls together and promised to send them to my stunning friends.

I thanked my two sisters and my mum and gave them all a kiss goodbye, grabbing my clutch off the table in the hall before closing the door and entering the limo.

“Omg, my single pringles! You guys are like princesses!” I said as we all sat in the limo. “Oh, stop describing yourself Rhiannon!!” my best friend Sophie said as she laughed at her own comment. As we all discussed the night and girl things, I studied everyone’s dresses.

Issy’s dress was short and lace, only just above the knee and was a lovely green colour. Her hair was done similarly to Avalon’s, in a braid to the side. She wore black heels with bows and had smoky eye shadow. Avalon’s dress was, of course, pink! She just loved hot pink, which explained her choice of colour. She had gone all out with a “Princess Pink” theme, with a hot pink boob tube dress and matching shoes. Her hair was in a fishtail to the side, and she was wearing baby pink lip gloss and tan eye shadow.  She was even wearing a little tiara, god I loved her!

Ellie looked as beautiful as ever, despite her constant denying. She wore a floor-length red dress that fitted perfectly. It hugged around her perfect flat stomach where it was decorated with diamantes and from there it flowed freely down to her black pumps. Her hair was down in elegant curls which matched her elegant makeup.

Then there where my bestest friends, Rhiann and Sophie. They both looked gorgeous in floor-length gowns. Rhiann wore a baby-yellow dress, decorated with a white band with grey trimming tied in a loose bow at the back, matched with natural makeup complete with perfect nude lips and her hair in a waterfall braid.

And finally, Sophie wore a dark purple gown, which was no surprise since it had been her favourite colour since I met her and Rhiann in Yr 7. She had a half-French braid from the top-right of her head which wrapped around the back of her head and finished in a side braid which sat on her tanned chest. Her makeup consisted of eyeliner, a nude lip gloss, light blush and lilac tinted eye shadow. Her favourite makeup combination.

When we finally arrived and gotten over the shock of the venue’s beauty……

“Oh my… This place is f*#%@!G beautiful!” Ellie exclaimed only to get a typical Avalon reply: “Don’t swear Ellie!!!”

…..I couldn’t help but laugh at Ellie and Avalon being, well Ellie and Avalon.

We made our way over to the buffet, where Ellie pretty much emptied the plates and most of the food was gone. Fortunately Issy pulled her over to where I was standing with the others so no-one else had to starve. God she reminded me of Niall. I hadn’t seen him since X Factor auditions, 3 years ago.

Soon One Thing started playing and all the girls shrieked while my crew and I just stood there. We were totally cool with it. Okay, Ellie still fan girl-ed a bit even though she knew Niall was my childhood friend.

When it got to Niall’s solo I couldn’t help but say my thoughts out loud.

“God I miss Niall so much” I said.

“Not for long” Rhiann muttered under her breath.

“What??” I said.

“Nothing!” Rhiann replied.

“You’ll find out soon” Ellie told me as she added on a wink which just added to my curiosity.

What could they be talking about?.....
