03: Drenched

Out of the store and onto the pavement, April realized that they had managed to avoid the rain while they were doing their little shopping. The rain had stopped and small puddles of water had formed by the roadside and on the road itself. Rachel starts her chattering while they walked along the street. They passed by numerous boutiques and watches people entering and leaving the stores. 

While Eunjung wondered out loud what they should have for dinner, April watches the cars and buses pass by them. For some reason, she had an ominous feeling. Sure enough, before she can have any response, a car drove past her and the puddle of water immediately splashes on her.

"O.M.G!" Rachel exclaimed out loud, with no care of the judging eyes from the nearby strangers. 

Few droplets had landed on her and Eunjung, but their state was not as bad as April's. Because April was walking on the outermost of the pavement-- the nearest to the road--she was completely drenched.

Eunjung starred at April with a shock expression. She watches how the water keeps dripping from April's ponytail and quickly scrambled her own bag for some tissues. Rachel wiped the droplets of water that had fallen on her arm and sees Eunjung struggle to find her packet of tissues. She immediately scrambled her own shoulder bag for one.

Still looking stunned, April's eyes focused on a person few metres up front. She noticed that he was drenched from the puddle splash as well. Deep down, April is secretly happy as she is not the only one that is so unlucky. 

At least I'm not the only one this time, she thought.

But as soon as she had that thought, she realizes that the man was drenched because he had to shield a lady from the splash. Thanks to the man, the lady was completely safe from the dirty puddle of water. Immediately, April rolled her eyes.
