That's what I'm worried about

Another filler chapter, super short, but hey, it keeps the story moving.

"So what you're telling me is that you've spent the weekend with this guy that you're also dating now, but his ex and still best friend was there with you while confessing his love to your now boyfriend every chance he got?" Naruto raised his eyebrows at me. "Am I the only one who thinks that this is a really weird love triangle?" He looked around while he was pointing at himself. "I mean, you disappeared for two months because of him and now you're totally fine as if nothing happened?"

"I'm with you on the whole Shisui thing, trust me. There wasn't anything I wanted to do more than to punch that jerk." I said, getting angry just thinking about him. "And it's not like we're pretending that nothing happened, we both know it. Well, the three of us know it, as Shisui liked to remind me."

"Okay well, hear me out on this one and don't get mad, but you said that this Shisui knows about most of what happened between you two, right? And he's your boyfriends ex and his best friend as well,.." Naruto's face was getting more confused as he talked. "So it kind of makes sense that he's acting like that? I mean, it is the person he loved and also his best friend we're talking about. And you're the person who hurt the person he's in love with. Those are two really good points for him to hate you."

"Naruto, who's side are you on?" I looked at him furiously. I knew that he was right, but I didn't want to hear it from him. "And he's still madly in love with Itachi too, it's just weird. He was all like-" I cleared my throat so I could imitate Shisui's voice. "I am the one that can make Itachi happy unlike you so why don't you just leave again."

"I'm on your side, I'm just saying. Don't you think Itachi probably feels super weird having to be in the middle of this? He likes you but he also likes his ex boyfriend slash his best friend."

"Naruto, you can just say his friend, or Shisui, or an idiot for all I care, you don't have to name everything."

"Geez, I'm sorry. You'd be better off talking to Sakura about this, I don't really know what to say. I see the point of all of you, it kind of makes sense you know. Well, that does. I still don't understand how you two got together this fast after two months. Who does that?"

"People that love each other?"

"No, don't tell me that's how you really feel?"

"Why? Am I supposed to lie to you?"

"No, it's just,.. the whole relationship between you two seems sort of toxic. I didn't think it would become this serious after you said you were coming back. But damn, I guess it is that serious."

"I left for two months because of him, of course it's that serious, catch up, Naruto."

"Yeah, you left for two months," he held up two of his fingers. "Two," he said. "Months!" he almost showed his fingers into my face. "That's serious on it's own. What did he say to you to make you fall over for him like that?"

"It's not what he said. It's what I said. And what I feel." I looked away from him. "I know that we fucked it up big time, but I know we can make it work,.."

"Maybe I should have a talk with him?"

"What?"

"I mean, his friend had a talk with you so I should have a talk with him."

"Now hold up, don't get this into your head but you might be onto something." I smashed my fist against the palm of my other hand lightly. "You can be really annoying sometimes. So what if I take you to Itachi's apartment while Shisui is still there?"

"Why would you wan-" he stopped mid sentence, realising what I was saying. "Oh, okay. But is he going to want to risk this?"

"He doesn't have a chance."

"In theory this sounds like a good plan, but what if something goes wrong? What if his friend decided to just leave because he doesn't want to see you again?"

"He also doesn't want to see me and Itachi alone, that's why we barely got any time to ourselves. I mean, he sneaked into the bed in between me and Itachi in the middle of the night while we were sleeping. He has issues."

"Okay, I agree with you. That's really weird. I don't even want to imagine you doing that to me and Hinata."

"I'm not going to do that, don't worry."

"So when should we do this? On the weekend?"

"I don't know exactly when Shisui is leaving, I'm gonna have to find out without spilling out this plan."

"Wait, I just realised something."

"What is it?"

"Every day, Itachi goes back home after his job is done for the day, right?" he asked. "So that means that every day, he goes back to his friend waiting there for him."

"Really? Did you only just realise this?" I rolled my eyes. "I said catch up, Naruto!"

"Do you think he cooks him a dinner and then they eat together while looking into each others eyes, wondering why they ever broke up and wondering if they maybe , just maybe, could salvage the remains of the deep love they used to share?"

"I-" I got up from my bed and walked over to the door, shaking my head. As I opened the door, I looked at Naruto over my shoulder. "That's exactly what I'm worried about." I said before leaving the room and shutting the door behind me loudly.
