Fear. I didn't want to admit it, even to myself, but I was scared. The questions and the unknown only added to the mess in my head; my thoughts zig zagging around my mind, making it impossible to focus on one specific thing.

"When are we going to leave?" I asked, feeling my shoulders tense up.

"Soon, I just need to do some things here and then we're on the move to home sweet home,"

I stared at him.

"Okay maybe not so sweet or home at all but you got my point," he sighed dramatically, "Why are you so uptight all of the time?"

"Maybe because I'm stuck in a cave with you, while you're refusing to explain anything to me?" I shot back, trying to figure out how we was keeping so calm.

Enzo's long curly hair covered the majority of his eyes while he stared down, his brown skin alight with a golden glow within the dimly lit cave. Maybe Elise wasn't all that wrong when she said he was 'ethereal'.

He chuckled, "I told you I'd explain to you once we get back, stop being so impatient, girl,"

I had only recently noticed how much he truly didn't fit in here, his looks making him stand out like a sore thumb from all the other pale faces within the northern city of Aerelon.

"Where are you from?"

He raised a brow, "What makes you think I'm not from here?"

I frowned, "Ash said the spells and runes you use are nothing like what is taught here, the architecture of your house, the way you look...it's all foreign,"

"You've caught me," he huffed, pausing, a darker glint arising in his eyes. "I'm from Cresseida."

My mouth dropped open. I was expecting Shotet, maybe Onria, but Cresseida?

Feeling the atmosphere completely change, I tried to give him a smile, "Will you teach me some spells?"

He chuckled, "Cresseidan spells?"

I nodded.

"You're serious?" he breathed out, almost laughing in disbelief.

"Yes..."

He grinned, "You are one hell of a woman. Let's get started with the basics shall we?"

They surely didn't feel like basics.

"This seems more like the intermediate spells that my teacher told me about. Didn't you say basics? As in...easy?"
