Melissa's POV:
I opened my eyes, I was in my room, ten years old. I went to my door and tried to open it, it wouldn't budge. Mommy must have gotten daddy to turn the doorknob around. Why? I thought to myself. "Oh well, I'll just play with my toys." I sighed as a slowly started towards my toy box. I stopped dead in my tracks and heard my mommy moaning. "What? Is mommy okay?" I looked at my door. I couldn't get out even if I wanted to. I went to my toy box and got out my Littlest Pet Shops (LPS) and started to play with them. I made a whole story. A cat who lived with a caring mother, father, brother, and sister.

The story carried out until I heard my doorknob twisting open revealing my sister and my brother. My brother was sixteen, he was tall with black hair and brown eyes. My sister was opposite, she was thirteen, she was shorter like me, with long, wavy blond hair and green eyes.

"Bubba, Sissy?" I looked up at them both and they looked at me with worried eyes.

"Melissa, we need to go." He said quietly and hurried me out the door. I heard my siblings whispering.

"Aaron, what are be going to do?" My sissy asked.

"We are gonna go to our grandmother's house."
He stated calmly, though worry filled his eyes betrayed his voice.

"What?!" My sister exclaimed. My brother put his hand over her mouth.

"Skyla! Shhh!" He hissed. "How are we gonna get out without mom noticing?" Skyla questioned.

"I'll tell her I'm gonna go get something from the store and drive my car to the stop sign, you and Melissa are gonna go outside through your window and walk there, I'll pick you two up and get our grandparents to call our mom and say they called us over to see us." Aaron stated walking out of the room calling to our mom. I was rushed into Skyla's room and out her window.

"Sissy, where are we going?" My voice was calmer and I understood whatever they'd tell me. We all matured faster than normal kids because of how we have been treated.

"To grandma and grandpa's house." She smiled warmly at me.

"Yay! Wait, is mommy letting strangers in again?" My eyes started to tear up. "Y-yes... she is." She sighed hesitantly. We walked to the stop sign and got in Aaron's car and went to our grandparents's house.

"Y'all are here!" Our grandma greeted us, she had a warm smile, but worry filled her eyes, "there are cookies for you two girls in the kitchen. Aaron, come with me." She led Aaron into her room while my sissy and I went to the kitchen to eat some cookies.

Aaron's POV:
I slowly walked into my grandmother's room. "Your mother is letting people in again?" She looked me dead and the eye and I answered with a simple

"Yes ma'am."

"I see." She sighed, "I expected better out of her, she had a great childhood, in high school is when she started being like this. I don't know what changed her." I looked down at the ground and shuffled my feet. "You can sit on my bed, your legs must be tired from driving, and all of those bruises..." she pointed to my legs which were littered with bruises that our mother left.

"Does dad know about all of this?" I asked.

"Yes, he does. He is planning on divorcing your mother and taking you kids with him if he can gain custody." She sat down in a chair across from her bed.

"Alright, I just hope he can get custody over all of us...." I groaned and folded my hands together.
