I sat in my journalism class next to Sarah. "You've been busy lately." She said.
"I know." I said continuing to write down the notes.
"What's been happening?"
"I-" I was afraid to tell her. Not her being mad, just overly excited.
"Tell me. You're hiding something."
"I went on a date Friday and Saturday- well Saturday we stayed at my dorm and watched the notebo-"
"Did you have sex?" She smiled at me.
"Ew no, but he kissed me and I slapped him." She just laughed.
"Mady: the most charming girl in the world." She joked.
"Shut up!" I bumped her elbow.
"So are you guys 'together'?" She asked.
"N-" I sighed. "I don't know. We had coffee yesterday and we're going out again this weekend." I whispered.
"You're actually letting him in."
"No I'm not." I stated.
"You may not see it, but you are." She said. "You're actually talking to him."
"Stop."
"Listen: I understand you're scared, but this guy will be good for you. He's changing you."
"No he's not."
"Yes. Something is different. I can't point it out, but there is something." She said. "I love you Mady. I only want the best for you."
"Then tell me not to date him."
"No. I'm telling you to let him in. Not now, but slowly let him in."
"I do-"
"No I don't knows, buts or ands. I'm telling you to do this. You haven't had something like this in forever."
She was right. "I love you Sarah. I'm so glad I have you." I told her. She was the only person I possibly ever let in since Damen.
"Love you too." She smiled at me.
"You two!" The professor pointed at us. "Care to share with the class?"
"No sir." Sarah and I said at the same time.
"Good, now stop talking." Sarah and I just smiled at teach other.
-----
"Take my advice!" Sarah yelled at me as her and I walked out of the classroom. I just smiled at myself and continued walking.
"Hey." Some dude walked up to me. "You're really pretty."
"Okay?" I just continued walking.
"Want to hook up?" He asked me.
"No thanks." I said.
"Come on!" I walked out of the college and continued to walk, but he followed me. "I know you want it!"
I just ignored him and continued to walk. "Hey babe, is this guy bothering you?" Jack walked up and put his arm around me. I forgot he goes to college here too.
"Yes." I stated.
"Sorry bro." The guy said walking away.
"Thank you." I said placing a peck on his cheek. He deserved it.
"Anytime. But I got to get to class. See you tomorrow."
"Bye." I waved.
When he left I hugged myself, smiled and bit my lip.
