Once there was a kumquat. It lived in Nepal where it had quit a happy life. Now, we aren't fruit so we don't know quite what it's like to be a fruit. But anyways (bear with me here) fruit have to go to sweetness school. So they can become sweet. Everyday the kumquats were made fun of. Just because of their funny names. But all the other fruits knew that kumquats were the sweetest of all the fruits there. It made them feel bad, so they were mean to them. Most kumquats abandoned the normal fruit establishments and went to a large patch of land called kumtauq. Kumtauq was the wealthiest place in the world of fruit. All the richest fruits lived there, and about 85% of them were kumquats.
All the fruits there lived quite happy lives and never faced much adversity except for THE SEASON. That was the season when the tapirs came home. When the tapirs got home they would feast on only the sweetest fruit. And kumquats were their favourites. The fruits were terrified and had attempted to create ways to hide. But it was no use. The tapirs always sniffed them out. Year after year the kumquats parished at the mouths of the tapirs. Until one brilliant kumquat had a genius idea. Why don't the kumquats move! Everyfruit was astonished by this kumquat's intelligence and cunning. So one year all the kumquats took the trip to Japan... The parrots were hungry... The Japanese parrots were hungry...
