Dragon Riders

Chapter one

              I've always had a strong connection to mythology but i never knew why, but i'm getting ahead of myself. My name is Rain McGee, I'm  17 years old. I'm currently a Junior at Om-ally high in Louisiana. i live with my boyfriend Joshua Wells and his family, because my father had died a year ago and my mom didn't want me so Joshua's family took  me in.  As soon as I started school at Om-ally i started to have "visions" but i have been to day dream a lot so i never thought anything of it. But as time went on they became stronger and i was more jumpy then normal.

        "Hey girl did you see the video of Ashley R?" My best friend came running over to me Dream vaulters she is a stoner but still my best friend.

    "No why?" I say reaching for my books on the top of the locker, looking over at Dream as she shows me her phone. The video was of Ashley R falling down the stairs she actually bounced. I couldn't help but laugh watching the girl I despise bouncing down the stairs. But as if the universe summoned the demon I heard the clicking of heels.

       "Hey St-stutter" i heard the cackle of Ashley as she passed only this time  had a come back for her bitchiness. 

       " Hey Tubby" I smirked and held back a small chuckle 

     "What did you just say" she spun around so fast and she was so pissed i thought i saw smoke which made it 100 times better.

    "Tubby, you know because you bounced down the stairs because of those layers you have put on. maybe you should consider losing a few" I smirked even more.

    As I closed my locker she stormed off in  a cloud of smoke couldn't tell if it was from her being mad or the gears in her head turning to come up with an insult.

     All of a sudden I felt arms around my waist my reaction was to throw my elbow back but they caught it. 

      "whoa baby" It was Joshua or josh i turn and avoid eye contact. 

     "sorry Joshy" i hug him

     " Are you okay you have done that 5 times this week and its only Tuesday" he laughs a bit kissing the top of my head 

    " yea i'm fine just tired i guess" i smile a bit and stay in his arms for a little bit longer. We finish our classes and head home. Soon we get to the house we walk threw the door. Joshes mom is home which is unusual.

     "Hey Rain,' Mrs.Wells is sitting at the table marking something "Josh you have that appointment."   

Josh wraps his arms around my waist and kisses my neck softly i smile and giggle a bit "for what mom"

" For Wrestling" she is watching us 

"Oh my physical" he kisses my neck again 

" Hey are you guys being safe?" 

"What?!?!" I look at her a little shocked

"you know are you being safe in that area of your guys relationship?"

"Ma'am we haven't done anything "

"Rain i want you to take these just in case" she hands me  a pill bottle then she and Josh head to his appointment 

    I sit down and do my homework it doesn't take me long tho. When i look at the time there is enough time for me to cook before everyone gets home so I get to work on my grandma Drew's tater tot hot dish some steak and make a fresh pitcher of lemonade by the time everyone arrive home i have everything set. 

   "wow Rain did you cook all of this for us" Mrs. wells ask

"yeah i thought we could have a family meal together"  i look at josh his parents and his 3 siblings 

" That's a wonderful idea Rain, thank you" Mr.Wells says 

we all sit down and talk about our days and have a nice meal together. After words me and Josh clean the dishes. By the time we finished Mrs.Wells is calling us into the living room to watch a movie with the family. Josh and I sit on the floor against part of the couch. By the time the movie had ended it was 10 so we all headed to bed. As Josh and I cuddled i fell asleep in his chest.
