Josh looked over at us completely pissed.
His teeth were clenched and he looked like he wanted to kill Matt.
He grabbed him by the collar and dragged him out.
“What the hell were you doing?” he asked.
Matt got out of his grasp and started to walk backwards. “Nothing” he stuttered. “We were just talking”
“Don’t lie to me” Josh said walked closer to him.
I came out of the space and followed the.
“Were you really going to kiss her?” he asked.
Matt didn’t answer instead he walked outside. Josh followed him, as did I along with a few others.
“Matt” Josh called. Matt stopped walked and turned around. He looked sad and ashamed.
“You didn’t really like Lucy, did you?”
“What” I heard a faint whisper. I looked to my left and saw Lucy come out of the crowd, that was starting to form.
“You actually liked Violet. You wanted to steal my girl?”
Matt nodded his head a little looking at the ground/
“How many times have you kissed her?” he asked in a low whisper.
When Matt didn’t answer Josh grabbed him by the collar again. “How. Many. Times?”
“I don’t know about five” Matt admitted.
Then everything felt as though it was in fast-forward. Josh punched Matt in the stomach. Matt managed to stand up and punch him in the jaw.
Everyone watched in awe as the two boy began to fight.
I fought back my tears as I ran over to them.
I manage to get between them, without getting hurt.
Once that were separated, I was still in the middle of them.
“How could you do this to me? I thought we were best friends” Josh said with hurt in his eyes.
“Look, I’m sorry, but I’ve liked Violet since the day I meet her,”
“But do you love as much as I do?”
Matt was silent.
“How come you never told me?” Josh asked me.
“I didn’t want to break up your friendship”
“Well, we’re no longer friends and you and me…” he trailed off.
“What about you and me?” I asked in a rush.
“I just need sometime” he said looking past me.
“What?” I stuttered. “You can’t break up with me. you can’t leave” I could feel the tears falling down my face.
“I’m not breaking up with you. I just need a break”
“Josh…” I started.
“Violet” he looked at me with pain in his eyes. he slowly walked away backwards, still looking at me.
The tears were falling harder now.
I lost him and I couldn’t do anything. I felt so vulnerable, alone, lost.
I crowd around us slowly went away, leaving Matt, Lucy and me.
I slowly turned around and looked at Matt. “Thanks” I said as I walked passed him.
He whispered something that sounded liked, “I’m so sorry Violet,” but I didn’t care.
‘I’m sorry’ isn’t going to bring Josh back to me.
With my head down, I began to walk home.
Matt’s Point Of View
I saw still in shock at what just happen.
I am the biggest jerk ass whole ever.
Lucy walked up to me tears in her eyes.
“You didn’t really like?”
I looked at her teary eyed face and shook my head no. “I’m sorry Lucy”
“You know, you’ve been saying that a lot. Are you really sorry or are you just pretending? Is your name even Matt Hart or is it Jackass Jerk? You really broke my heart along with Josh’s and Violet’s. And let’s not forget Maya’s. Someone ought to call the cops on you,” Lucy said with tears streaming down her face. She walked away from me.
I walked away and got into my car.
I was going to find away to fix this.
