I saw Josh across the street staring at me. I stared back.
We didn’t move nor did the world around us.
Not a car, person, animal or the wind. Everything was still.
He walked closer to me. “Violet”
I nodded my head.
I looked up at the clouds that were preparing for a thunderstorm.
“Can we talk?” he asked.
Even though I wanted to, I suddenly didn’t want to. Not here anyway.
“Not now” I said.
He walked closer to me. “Then listen, just here me out. I didn’t want to take a break or anything. I was just too angry to think straight. I said things I didn’t mean. I need you Violet, I’m so sorry that I hurt you. I love you”
The rain was falling a little. “You want me to take you back? I don’t think I can. You broke my heart twice too many,”
The rain was starting to pure down harder now. We were almost soaked.
“You broke my heart too, Violet. But my love for you is too strong,”
“How did I break your heart? You left me then kiss Cloey,”
“You kissed my best friend and took off the ring I gave you and left it on the floor. I’m willing to look pasted that, Vi. Please just… I can’t live without you. I love you so much,”
Tears streamed down my face. “I love you too, so much”
I ran into the street and Josh meet me halfway.
He lifted me up as our lips crashed together.
I kissed him with every ounce of love and passion I had in me. Josh did the same. He held me tightly and never let me go.
I wrapped my legs around his waist and ran my hand through his hair.
We never broke the kiss. We have been longing for each other for too long.
Our lips moved in perfect harmony. We forgot about the world around us.
“I love you” he said between kisses.
“I love you too” I said back.
I really did love Josh, with a burning passion.
I guess you never know you love someone until they leave you.
Josh slipped something on my finger. I’m guessing it was the ring.
Our kiss was interrupted by a loud roll of thunder.
We pulled away, out of breath.
All I could do was smile. I got my Josh back.
He smiled at me and spun me around in the middle of the street.
“We should go inside,” Josh said putting me down and lacing our fingers together.
“Good idea,” I laughed.
We ran to my house hand in hand.
My parents weren’t home, they must have left for work.
“You can take a shower in my bathroom and I’ll take one in my parent’s bathroom,”
“Or we could take one together,” Josh said wrapping his arms around me. “We can save water that way”
I laughed as I headed up stairs.
I grabbed my underwear and got in my parents shower.
After a long warm shower I got dressed and meet josh in my room.
He was only in boxers.
“Hey beautiful” he said bringing me over to the bed.
“Hey handsome,” I said sitting on his lap, so I was facing him.
“I missed you” he said holding my cheek.
“I did too. I didn’t mean for anyone-” Josh cut me off.
“It’s okay. As long as I have you back”
I smiled at him and he smiled back as he lied down on the bed.
I laid on top of him and played with his hair.
It was still well from the shower and the rain. It looked disheveled.
I think his hair grew. It looked longer than I remember.
“Hey Josh?”
“Hm?” he asked. His eyes were closed and his hand were behind his head.
“Did your hair grow?”
“Yeah a little”
I continued to play with his hair and Josh started to draw little circles on my back with his finger.
I felt myself slowly falling sleep.
“You can sleep” Josh said.
“I love you” I said as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
“I love you too” Josh kissed my forehead as I drifted off.
