As Judy disappear from the eyes of both gentlemen, Caine let out a heavy sigh and glare back to the sulking Valence. "You knew I was looking from the start, you bastard."

Valence on the other hand smirk dubiously in hope to push his friend's patient limit. He pour himself some wine. "Don't play the big bro now, Caine. It's not even the least funny," he mock, crossing his legs and resting his back against the backrest.

He shot him daggers, insulted by his tyrannic roleplay. "The first time I saw her in person, I thought something was already odd. Besides her clear resemblance to Logan, she was like someone in need of protection. And she happen to be in your grasp at the time. Overthinking about a lot of possibilities why she's here on this island, I took the liberty of having a legitimate DNA test."

"You got some sister complex now, is that it? Tss. Was not being close to your biological parents made you delusional over Judy?"

They're literally not on good terms right now. Caine kept his hands to himself in lieu of Judy onboard right now. "This is the second time I wish to stick a knife to your throat." He pour himself wine.

"Likewise." Valence plan to be as calm as he can. His Dove will be upset if he kill her newly found brother now. He's such a man, prioritizing his love before else. "Cut to the chase, brother," he snicker.

"I know you too well," Caine drank his wine. "You're only gonna lose her if you continue to involve her to yourself. Abramo's not stupid to not know his own son is moving against him."

"She'll be fine. I can protect her."

"Don't use that superior tone with me, Valence. Building your own Family is not even gonna faze the underlings."

"Afraid to die for me now?"

"Don't fuck with me. You know what I mean. We're outnumbered at the moment. The others are yet to give their reply for the movement."

"We've got plenty of time to prepare before the day comes. It's not only money that makes people motivated." He drank the remaining wine in his glass. He turn to Caine with a reassuring smirk that doesn't meet his eye. "It's hate."

"You're still a mafia, Val. The son of the person who they loathe. They will probably kill you next after your father."

"I have you and Akio. Unless you turn your backs from me, then I guess I'll die a lonely death."

"That's something unworth giggling about. What about Judy?"

"I won't die."

"That's not the only matter! How about Judy? Is she part of some scheme too?"

"Not anymore."

"You...!"

"I love her."

"Unworth giggling about. You'll throw her away once you have your fill. This is why I'm telling you, leave her alone."

"I want her. Just her."

"Is she enough reason to leave the mafia?"

Valence didn't reply this time. He knows, they both do, that mafia is inescapable. The past will hunt them forever. Death will never leave them alone until they breathe their last breath. Until then, he will make the most of his life left... with Judy.

"Are you ready?"

Kumapit si Judy sa braso ni Valence para kumuha ng lakas ng loob. Humugot siya ng malalim na hininga saka ibinuga iyon ng dahan-dahan. "Wag mo 'ko iiwan."

"I won't," he guarantee.

Kasalukuyan silang papasok ng lupa ng Magnus sakay ang mamahaling limousine nito na siyang sumundo sa kanila kanina sa airport. Kinakabahan siya ng bongga. Paano kaya niya haharapin ang taong hindi niya kilala? Ipagtatabuyan kaya siya nito? Paano kung hindi naman siya welcome tapos nandito siya't bigla na lang susulpot. Paano kung sa gagawin niyang pagpapakilala dito ay gawin siyang bitag para mahanap ang ina niya?

Nanlumo siya sa huling naisip. Hindi pangkaraniwang tao si Logan. Naikwento ni Caine na strikto ito, may isang salita lamang, hindi nakikihalubilo sa mga mabababang uri ng mga tao, at bilang isang pinuno ng samahan, malaki ang responsibilidad na hawak nito't may reputasyong pinangangalagaan.

"Don't worry, Judy," ani Caine, bakas sa tinig nito ang kasiyahan. "When I talked to his secretary, he said Logan cancelled his meeting this evening to see you."

"Talaga? Pero... ano..."

"Ano iyon?" Nagta-Tagalog din si Caine. "May problem ba?"

"Pangalan lang talaga ang tawag mo sa kaniya?"

"Well, normally a familly use common nouns to address the other. Pero ibahin mo ang mapya. Kakaunti lang gumagamit niyon. Huwag ka mag-alala. Sigurado akong gusto kang makilala ni Logan."

"Sana nga."

Ilang minuto lang ay narating na nila ang malapalasyong mansyon ng Magnus. Namangha na naman si Judy sa pagbaba nila ng sasakyan. Wala talagang ordinaryo kapag usapang mapya. Sa magkabilang gilid niya pumwesto ang dalawang binata upang bigyan siya ng sense of security sa banyagang lugar. Hinawakan ni Valence ang namamawis niyang kamay. Sapat na iyon para mawala ang nerbyos na nararamdaman.

May isang matandang lalaking nakabihis butler ang sumalubong sa kanila ng bati. Yumuko ito nang nasa tapat ng puso ang kanang kamay. "Young Master Caine, Young Master Valence, welcome back. And Miss, I see to it that you had a comfortable journey?"

"Jo!" walang anu-anong pabirong hinampas ni Caine sa balikat ang matanda pero ang linis-linis ng hitsura. "You're so formal! Jo, I'd like you to meet someone." Inakay nito si Jo para malapitan silang magkakilala. "Judy, this is Jo, he's the one who literally raised to who I am right now."

"I did not teach you to fish women," singit ni Jo.

Ipinagpatuloy lang nito ang pagpapakilala. "Jo, this is Judy, my sister." Halatang gulat si Jo sa balita. "It's a long story. For now, why don't you show them to their rooms so they could rest? It's a few hours before the set dinner with the Head."

"No problem. I'll hear this long story, Young Master Caine."

Sa nakikita ni Judy, away mag-ama ang nangyayari. Nakakatuwa na sa kabila ng magkaibang katayuan, nagagawa nilang maghabilo ng masaya.

"Miss Judy, I am at your disposal," nagbigay galang sa pamamagitan ng pagluhod si Jo.

"Wuah!" atubiling pinatayo niya ito. "You--you don't have to kneel, sir! I'm no royal blood, goodness!" Pabulong niyang nasambit ang huling kataga.

"Of course you are," giit ni Jo. "You, Young Lady Judy, is a Magnus. I see resemblance that cannot be denied. It is enough reason for me to give you the same respect and loyalty."

"N-no I--"

"I'd like to rest, Jo," Valence interrupted. "I'm pleased to see you well. Now, will you kindly show us the way to our rooms? Judy is a lot emotional at the moment. She'll definitely be needing time to arrange her thoughts since she just found out her blood relation to the Magnus Family."

"As cold as always, Young Master Valence. Perhaps I shall tend your needs now." Kahit na pormal ang pag-uusap, ramdam pa din ni Judy ang respeto sa paligid ng tatlong lalaki para sa isa't-isa.

Papasok na sila sa mansyon nang may isuhestiyon siya. "Uhm, Caine, Jo--sir, I'd like to share a room with Val, if I may?"

Si Caine ang unang nag-react. "No! Judy that guy's hand could land anywhere on you! I'm generous enough to let him come with us here. ＼(;'□｀)/."

"I don't want him to leave my side. (T⌓T)."
