(Y/N) observed as the man brought the donut closer to his lips. There was a moment of anticipation, her heart beating just a bit faster. She had never shared this dessert with a stranger before, let alone someone from the north, and her curiosity was piqued by how he would react. The man took a tentative bite, his eyes widening in surprise at the soft, fluffy texture and the sweetness that melted on his tongue. A grin slowly spread across his face, the expression of a man who had just discovered something delightful.
"Oh, this is incredible!" he exclaimed, wiping the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand. His amber eyes sparkled with genuine appreciation, and he took another bite, this time more eagerly.
(Y/N) felt a sense of pride wash over her. "I'm so glad you like it," she said, her smile mirroring his enthusiasm. "It's a bit of a challenge to make them in large quantities, but we do our best."
"Well, I can see why. If I were you, I'd keep these all to myself," he teased, his voice warm with amusement. He glanced at her, his playful tone returning. "But since you were kind enough to share, I'll consider myself lucky."
(Y/N) chuckled softly. His charm was hard to ignore, and she found herself enjoying their conversation more than she expected. There was something disarming about his presence, even though he clearly enjoyed teasing her.
As he continued to savor the dessert, (Y/N) couldn't help but ask, "Is it true that people from the north prefer their food to be heavier and richer?"
The man paused for a moment, his expression thoughtful. "Yes, that's generally true. We like our food to be hearty, something that can keep you warm during long winters. This, however," he said, gesturing to the donut, "is a refreshing change. Light, sweet, and... quite addictive, I must say."
She laughed again, her initial nerves melting away as they spoke. It was rare for her to meet travelers, let alone those from faraway places like the north. "I suppose I'll have to keep that in mind if I ever have the chance to visit your homeland," she replied.
"You'd be more than welcome, my lady," he said, his tone slightly more serious, though the playful glint in his eyes remained. "I imagine you'd be quite the sensation up north, with your cooking skills and all."
(Y/N) blushed at the compliment, not entirely sure how to respond. Before she could say anything, the man quickly polished off the donut, looking thoroughly satisfied.
"Thank you for that," he said, bowing his head slightly in gratitude. "It's not often I get to try something so new and delicious."
"You're very welcome," (Y/N) replied, feeling her confidence return. "I'm happy you enjoyed it."
As they sat in comfortable silence for a moment, (Y/N) found herself wondering more about the mysterious traveler in front of her. There was something intriguing about him, something that went beyond his teasing nature and playful smiles.
