Jai’s arm was tightly secured around my waist as we walked through the hustle and bustle of the school corridor. He made me feel safe, I was petrified before going on the exchange programme, just me and Becca living alone for 3 months on the other side of the world from home, I would have hated walking through the corridor being the ‘new girl’ but with my boyfriend at my side I felt invincible. Slaggy girls with huge boobs and half their arses hanging out their skirts gave me dirty looks as I walked passed them, I just rolled my eyes and wrapped my arm around Jai’s waist even tighter.

‘I can’t wait to take you somewhere special tonight’ Jai whispered to me as we reached his locker.

‘Shit, I can’t, I’m sorry. I agreed to do the project with Luke tonight, I’m so sorry’ I hugged him sincerely as a rush of guilt came over me.

‘It’s okay’ his voice wavered with disappointed as he hugged me back.

‘Tomorrow night I promise!’ I said kissing his soft lips, he started to deepen the kiss but I pulled away.

‘Tomorrow night, I promise’ I repeated before giving him a cheeky smile and walking off to my last lesson.

****************

‘I’m pretty impressed’ Luke said, looking at the information I had gathered together for our project. We both sat on the picnic tables outside school, the air would help us concentrate he said.

‘I can actually work hard when I want to you know’ I laughed.

I opened up my text book and started to copy down some notes, adding small diagrams to make it look vaguely presentable. As I flipped over the page I could feel Lukes eyes set on me.

‘What?’ I looked up to meet his gaze.

‘You’re beautiful you know’ he smiled. Butterflies filled my stomach, remembering what had happened over the past few days. I smiled then focused back on my work but I could feel Luke getting closer and closer to my side.

‘You need a comma there’ he laughed grabbing a pencil and leaning over my work.

‘Shut up you grammar nazi’ I fought him back, holding the pencil away from my work.

‘You’re the one who’s supposedly English’ he joked, taking the pencil from his right hand and into his left, snaking his arm round the back of me to sketch in the correction.

‘Oi!’ I playfully pushed him, but his arm stayed around my neck. I looked down to his lips, his lip ring glinting in the sun, I tilted my head and crashed my lips onto his. He kissed me back and moved his lips in sync to mine. I brought my hand up to his neck and gripped onto his soft hair as he brought his hand down my back and wrapped his arm round my waist, bringing me closer to him, when suddenly my phone buzzed from inside my pocket.

It was Jai.

I shoved my phone in my pocket and parted from Luke, snapping back into reality. The reality of me secretly falling for my boyfriends brother. That harsh reality.

Becca’s P.O.V

‘Staying at school with Luke to carry on with the project, speak later - Lily’

I typed back a quick reply then grabbed my bag off the bedroom floor and walked out the house. There was no point me staying at home alone when Jai and I desperately needed to get on with our project. I walked down the road before arriving at the brook’s house.

‘Is Jai in? I’ve got our project?’ I asked Beau who answered the door.

‘Naa he’s gone to the tennis courts, come in’ he pushed back the door and I followed him inside, flopping down on the sofa.

‘I swear you are all like obsessed with this shit project’ he joked, sitting next to me.

‘It goes towards our end of year level, it’s hardly shit’ I replied, quite satisfied with my answer.

‘Pfft, I gave up on school, it wasn’t for me’ he leant back on the side of the sofa.

‘What do you wanna do with your life though?’ I asked him.

‘I always wanted to be an actor, you know, like Leonardo Dicaprio, but I guess that the Janoskians have really got quite popular, urgh I don’t even know. I just don’t want to grow up I guess’ he sighed.

‘Yeah, I can see that from playing twister and your random needs to go to the park’ I laughed.

‘I like to have a good time okay?’ he smiled back. ‘Now enough about me, tell me about you!’

‘There’s nothing to tell’ I shrugged, smirking.

‘But what about the simple things?’

‘Like what? I’m Becca Wilde, almost 18, favourite colour purple, favourite food, anything spicy’ he laughed at my stupid answers.

‘How about, are you a virgin?’ he asked, raising an eyebrow.

‘Beau!’ I hit him playfully.

‘Same’ he said grinning.

‘I didn’t even answer!’

‘You said enough’ he smirked.

For some reason I loved just sitting with a friend, talking about stupid stuff, there was something about Beau that made me relax in his company, there was nothing awkward, like even though we know hardly anything about each other, it was like we were childhood friends.

‘Lily and Jai are cute’ I said, snapping out of my daydream.

‘Jai doesn’t stop going on about her’ Beau rolled his eyes.

‘Same with Lily, I wish she’d shut up sometimes’ I agreed.

‘I bet you don’t stop talking about me when I’m gone’ he grinned.

‘Yeah, you’re constantly on my mind! I dream about you every night! Lily can’t keep me quiet!’ I joked.

‘Yeah, I wish’ he mumbled. I don’t think it was meant for me to hear but his red cheeks confirmed what I thought I heard.

‘Do I see someone blushing?’ I giggled, leaning over, trying to get it out of him.

‘Maybe’ he smirked. My eyes met his, I’d never noticed just how green they were until now which sent shivers down my spine, I craned my neck as he leant in, like he’d done the past two times. Our lips met and my breath got weak as started to move his lips. I positioned myself so I was sitting on his lap as his arms cradled my waist.

‘Third time lucky eh?’ he whispered after we pulled apart.

I nodded, smiling and lay my head against his chest.

I know it's not much compared to other stories but this book has reached 100 reads, which I'm really happy about - thank you! :')
