The Change

I was trained at a young age to throw knives, run as fast as them, and see as clear as one of them. I was to blend in with one of these bloodsuckers. My father was a vampire so I really had no choice but to do what he says to do.

   Beth gets up and does 50 push-ups and runs 12 miles to yell my father.

 I got up and did 50 push-ups. I got dressed for school and then ran out of the house to do 12 miles. I have got used to the fact that my muscles got sore and protested against my body every time I tried to run more than I was supposed to do. When I got back to the house a boy about my age was at my door.

Can I help you, I said.

 What you are doing here, the boy asked.

Why you want to know, I said briskly.

 I walked inside the house with the boy protesting after.

Dad, you got a stranger here for you I said. My dad came running down the stairs as quick as lightning.

 Beth what in God’s world do you want. I shrugged and nodded toward the door.

 What do you want boy said my dad showing his fangs?

I want you to have this for your daughter that no one knows existed. The boy said showing his fangs.

 Get off my property or you might in up dead. My father said as a threat.

All of a sudden I flash fangs at my father. “Inside now”. I said with an edge in my voice. My father was surprised but just sat there staring at me with a challenge in his eyes. I snapped at him and he backed off.

Wow, you got the power to control that beast the boy said.

Shut up I said and shut the door.

What the hell was that my father said? Why did you put on fake ----fangs?

They are not fake they are real fangs dad, I said to him.

  Your eyes are starting to change colors too said my dad smiling. You are going to be vamp after all, well half anyway.
