The next day, I spent an hour contemplating on whether or not I should go to the party. On one hand, parties are fun... On the other, no one would notice me, which would make it depressing. But...I hadn't been invited to a part in quite awhile. The last time was a few years ago, and it had been because I was mistaken for Alfred.
In the end, I decided not to go. It'd just upset me. I sat around a couple hours lounging and reading. I fed Kumajurasicpark, and played games. I played DragonCity on my iPhone. I did whatever I could to stop thinking about that stupid party.
Around seven, there was a knock on my door. When I answered, America started dragging me towards his car.
"C'mon dude. We're gonna be late."
I made every excuse I could think of, saying I had to clean the house or feed Kumajellal. My brother just hummed, pulling me along without a care in the world.
I started tugging, trying to get back to my house. "I don't wanna go." I finally admitted, pouting a bit.
Of course, he didn't hear me. Or he ignored me; it could be either at this point. Alfred, being as freakishly strong as he is, easily pulled me to his car. Sighing, I gave up and got in.
When we got there, America immediately took off, muttering something about England. I go to the back of the room. Looking around, I notice that most of the people here are countries.
I notice France crowding England and America practically hanging on to Arthur for attention. The Brit glanced from Alfred to Francis in both confusion and annoyance. I see Spain talking animatedly to a very uncomfortable-looking Romano. A little ways from them was an albino that looked familiar, but I couldn't remember.
I sit in the corner, kinda getting depressed. No one to talk to...I couldn't even talk to Kumajelly, cause he was at the house. I sigh. Maybe I could walk home. Or take Alfred's car. He'd probably go home with England. I'd help their relationship. After a few moments, I discard the idea. Alfred would probably throw a fit.
So I just sit there for awhile, waiting for America. Doing nothing. Boredom....
"Hey Birdie. What're you doing?" Birdie?
I look up. It's the albino I noticed earlier. Wait. Someone noticed me? Really? I get excited and smile. SOMEONE NOTICED ME.
"Umm. J-Just sitting here." Damn it! Why did I stutter?!
He laughs. He has a really nice laugh. REALLY nice. I blush. Rukafergerengin. I need to get my act together.
He sits beside me. I tilt my head in confusion. Usually, if someone got so close to me, I'd be uncomfortable. But oddly enough, it doesn't bother me. I look at him.
While his attention is elsewhere, I take the chance to take in his features. His messy snow-white hair falls perfectly onto his face, barely covering the corners of his piercing red eyes. He has quite the muscular build, too. I silently compare his shaped body to my own skinny, scrawny one. I frown, biting my lip slightly. A blush was heating up on my cheeks, but I couldn't figure out the reason why.
Maybe it was just the face that someone noticed me.
"So-"
Before I had a chance to speak, a chirping sounds, and a little chick lands on my arm. I jump slightly at the sudden impact, causing the bird to fly on the albino's head. He smiles and pets the bird.
"It's okay. It's just Gilbird."
"What kind of name is Gilbird?"
"He's named after the awesome me."
"And what's your name?"
He smiles. "Gilbert."
