I pulled into my parking spot. I sighed, knowing there was work to be done since this is the first time I've been here since last year. Slowly but surely, I pull everything out of the camper. It sucks that I have to shove everything into the camper at the end of the season. I pull out my firepit and sit down. For it being the first day of May, it's really hot. I decide to get up and get firewood. No point in not having a fire tonight. I look under the camper and find some dry wood. Someone must've stolen my tarp or it blew away during the winter. I grab some kindling and go to the firepit. I start a small fire and sit back, relaxing, and rather proud of my achievement. I go inside the camper to grab some hotdogs and something to drink. Suddenly, I hear a thump from the back of the camper. I cautiously walk towards the rear of the camper and slowly open the door to the rear bedroom. The moment I open the door wide enough, a squirrel runs between my legs and out main door of the camper. I sigh in relief and chuckle to myself. I can't believe a squirrel scared me so badly. I grab my things and go back out to my fire. It's dusk now, the sun disappearing below the treeline. I sit down in my chair after setting the food on the small table next to me. I realize I don't have anything to roast hot dogs on. Sighing, I get up and walk a little into the woods to find a suitable stick. I find one and return to my fire. I check my seat before I sit down and notice something is in my chair. I pull out my phone and turn the flashlight on. The squirrel from earlier now lies dead in my chair, still bleeding. I jump and fall back on the ground. Where the hell did that come from?! I pick up the small dead animal and throw it into the forest. Sighing, I sit down after cleaning the blood off my chair. I look down and grab a hotdog and place it on the stick. I roast my hotdog over the fire to heat up the cold meat. I then eat my dinner as the sky turns completely dark. I sit back as my fire dies, recapping my day in my head. I was jobless for the time being and all alone. The entire country under quarantine means I can't go to any stores, restaurants, or even see my family. I sigh, knowing I'm alone and no one is coming to visit. I put the fire out and go into the camper, ready for bed. I put new sheets on the bed, change into pajamas, and crawl into the oversized queen mattress. I fall asleep, hoping someday I won't be alone.
