I just know it's around here. I can tell... I can sense it and there are a lot of demons. My priestess get up was too long for me to run in. I could always change, but I knew when all these demons around here Naraku couldn't be far behind. I looked to my left and I saw the demons. I ran up and used my sacred arrows. It had a blue glow and was twice as powerful as any other priestess, unless they were part demon. I ran closer and managed to kill all of the demons. I sensed a strange aura coming from the forest. It was pure, yet evil. In my head, I knew what it could be. As I got closer my thoughts were correct. It was a piece of the Shikon Jewel. I got near the jewel shard and it automatically purified. That was too easy... All the demons had run away after they felt the jewel's presense purified. I ran back to the village and saw why it was so easy. The village was being attacked by some wolf demons.

I said in a soft voice, "Death moon..." My demon wings came out. I looked to the sky and saw it was night. Depending on the time of day, I transformed into different forms. I never wanted to become a demon. However, when I was little I wanted to become a demon because I was always chased by people. To them, I was a little girl with a lot of power who obeyed almost every order that was given. I didn't want to have that impression anymore. While I was thinking, I found the leader and saw he had two jewel shards.

"So, the little wolf decided to come out of his cave did he?" I said with a smirk on my mouth.

"Who are you?" the leader asked.

I flipped my hair and said, "I'm known as the Moon Princess to you demons."

He gasped, "You're known as a legend! I doubt that you actually are."

"Let's see... Scythe of the night!" A black scythe came out that I could use to control darkness, earth, and fire. "Ready? Better put those jewel shards to good use!" I threw a rock at him, but all it did was barely cut him.

"Bring it on little girl," he said.

He used his claws and attempted to hit me. I dodged and kicked him right in the face. He circled around me then went in for the pounce. I used my wings and batted him across the stomach. The leader growled at me.

"I'll get you next time!" He howled at the moon and soon disappeared. Once he was gone I ran to the main house. I hoped with all my might that she would be safe. I burst through the door and saw Prietstess Hisako. A group of people were surounding her.

"Are you alright, Priestess Hisako?" She was my tutor and mentor. She was one of the people who saved me from the darkness. She accepted my demonic ways.

"I'm fine Maki," she replied in a weak voice.

"You're hurt... I'll get the medicine."

She grabbed my sleeve and pulled me down, "Moon Princess -- no Maki, I want you to find Priestess Kaede."

  "Who's she?"

"She's one of my closest friends that will give you shelter to continue your training. She understand about demons well. Please, don't give up on life."

"Yes." She closed her eyes and went to everlasting sleep. I prayed for her safety and set off. It was the middle of the night and the world seemed to be crying. The clouds were dark and the night sounded like it was weeping.

"Who the hell are you?" someone asked.

I turned my head to see a demon with silver hair and a red kimono. "Who wants to know?"

"You smell funny," he said. I could depict yellow eyes.

I put my hand on my scythe. "So what dog? You aren't the center of the world, so why are you telling me this?"

"What business do you have at this village?" It looked like he was going to pounce.

My eyes narowed. "Nothing that involves fighting."

"Oh really?" He drew his sword and prepared for attack.

I stared at his necklace, then realized something. Just as he was going to bring the sword down  I said, "Sit."His necklace glowed and he fell to the floor.

        "How did you?"

I left him on the ground and head in the village. I asked the villagers where priestess Kaede lived and they pointed to a house in the middle of town. When I went in I saw two priestess, one priest, two demons, one demon slayer, and a half demon. "It's you!" the half demon shouted.

I wacked him in the face and then turned to the older priestess.

"Who may ye be?" the old priestess asked.

I answered while bowing, "Nice to meet you priestess Kayede. I am Maki Chiba, a disciple of Priestess Hisako."

"Oh Hisako! How may she be doing?"

I paued for a moment to control my tears, "She recently passed away."

        "I see."

"She told me to come here to finish my training, but if you don't want me to stay here then it's fine!"

Inuyasha said while getting off the ground, "Why is she so much nicer to Kaede?"

        "Hush Inuyasha!" said Kagome.

The priest came up and told me, "You are welcome to stay in my room if you like."

I looked up and him and questioned, "Um... what?"

The others looked at us and laughed. The demon slayer shouted, "MIROKU!"

She hit him on the head and I gave a chuckle.

I turned to priestess Kaede for her answer, "Yes, of course, I wouldn't turn down one of my closest friend's disciples."

        "Thank you."

The little fox demon pulled my kimono, "I'm Shippo! That's Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango and Kilala. Lemme show you where you're gonna stay!"

        "Thank you Shippo. "
